My 2017 3790 has to have the roof removed

Ok, Finally took the Unit to the dealer and just found out that “ALL” of the AC duct work has been crushed by the roof insulation during construction. ALL OF IT!!!!! The recommended fix is to remove the roof of my Unit manufactured in February of 2017 and put a new roof on when the ductwork is replaced. This is one of 17 issued I’ve had with this unit since I bought it in June.
1 Wine rack front panel fell off
2 Trim strap fell off
3 Screen door latch holder miss aligned
4 Radio held in place by 1 screw
5 Radio antenna never setup
6 Decal on rear pass side bubbled
7 2 areas in front storage bay open to outside
8 Washer/dryer door missing 4 screws
9 Washer/dryer door latch plate not properly counter sunk
10 Fender flairs keep coming loose
11 Both AC ALL ductwork crushed
12 Half screws on dining table missing
13 missing insulation around washer/dryer plumbing front corner
14 1/2 Wall not supported at top
15 Bedroom Thermostat back light failure
16 Rear storage doors move
17 Rear AC unit compressor stops

I am afraid of this Unit. I’m afraid it has multiple issues I have not found.

Hope fixes go well. Not many dealers can handle a complete roof replacement. Back to the factory?

Back to the factory for sure...some dealers don't know where the roof is.

At the very least call Keystone and see if the dealer has reported all of these issues and what the what the warranty repair numbers are. The dealer will not do a thing until they have these numbers so they can be reimbursed for the work. I hope these issues are resolved for you.

I don't doubt this unit is a mess and they should fix it but Keystone will not give you a new camper. Sorry but that is just the way it is.

Called Keystone customer owner relations this morning. The Dealership has not notified them yet. I listed all the issues i have had and the dated discovered. They were very sympathetic and promised to work with the dealership as soon as they get the paper work. They said it would be up to the dealership weather they would replace the unit. I think your right mlh, no replacement.

Keystone knows very well the dealer is not going to eat a unit, for what was clearly a production line problem.

They won't replace campers with broken wall studs, broken slide frames nor broken beams in the front. Not their way of operating.

Been there done this, told Keystone I was headed their way and parking it on the front door and they said do what you want but we won't touch it.

And now I see it is camping world... mine set on the lot in service for over 6 weeks... "We can't find any issue with your A/C" but they stood there taking a 50 degree reading on the output and it was 89 degrees inside camper. Yes, I found some crushing, opened up best I could with PVC but I have not been down all ducts.

Good luck with Camping Worst... I find they have less than trained techs.

Sure seems to be several units with dismal build quality here lately. I just have to say this before loyal and true Montana owners try and brush off many of his issues as near normal and that the silent majority of proud owners seldom chime in. Face it ... Montana along with many other brands put out their fair share of crap in today's arena of owning RV's.
LordKurgun ... you did good by contacting the factory. If you can in any way persuade Keystone to fix this at the factory DO IT!!!! For every one good CW ... there are 20 bad ones and that's a pretty fairly stated warning. They tell you they can repair any thing ... that's usually right ... any thing except what's wrong with your fiver.

Color me surprised about the dealership not contacting Keystone Customer Service. The dealership won't do it because they won't get paid the exorbitant rates the dealerships charge for work done on a unit. Keystone only pays a certain rate for warranty work to the dealers and the dealers do not want to accept it. We're heading for Goshen for the Fall Rally and you can be sure there will be some of us asking what is going on with the quality and quality control and why Keystone keeps these worthless dealers that do not want to help their customers with warranty problems. All it does is create bad feeling from the customer to Keystone as a whole. As you can see the DEALER is the bad guy on this one since they have not even reported any of the problems. As far as I'm concerned, I will never purchase a unit from CW or go to them for repairs if I'm on the road. They are worthless!

That REALLY sucks. You have to get the dealer and KS talking. My experience with far fewer and much less serious problems is that KS does little or nothing other than paying the dealership. I've never heard of them replacing a unit. In fact, do they ever take one back to the factory for repair?

While I'm a basically satisfied customer, I'm not so loyal that I'd never call them out for their errors. I hope you prevail.

Insurance companies will not total a unit unless, in general, the cost to repair is more than the value of the unit.

So here’s an update, Keystone fix to the collapsed ductwork is to place an inserted hose throughout the collapsed ductwork which will expand it as opposed to removing the roof and doing it to original specs. I’m thinking that if you put something in the designed duct work it may increase the crushed ductwork diameter but it will never active the original designed flow.

I think you might want to consider fixing the ducting. Removing the roof seems such a drastic fix. You should require the "fixers" to measure the existing airflow, with you present, then measure airflow after. If the airflow is not significantly better, then it's not fixed.

So here’s the November 18th update: The dealership still has the unit, apparently they tried the Keystone solution of putting a PVC pipe in the ductwork much like Bourbon Doc suggested and it didn’t work. So now we are waiting for Keystone to approve removing the roof and replacing the ductwork.
The unit according to Camping world has been winterized so hopefully the freezing temperatures won’t add to the problems.
