Campground suggustions for Outer Banks (OBX)

Planning a trip to the NC Outer Banks for Mid-April. Never been there before. Will be there for around 8-10 days. Should we try to split our time between North and South or just stay in one spot? Thanks.

We like Camp Hatteras in Waves NC.

Thanks Larry. I'll check them out. You stay there to visit North and South Outer banks.

There are a few in the Waves/Avon area. Hatteras KOA, Camp Hatteras, Ocean Waves, we've stayed at all three over the years, Ocean Waves is by far the most reasonable priced, but it's a small park and fills up fast. Both the KOA and Camp Hatteras are huge and generally no problem getting a site. We travel from that area back up to Kitty Hawk or South.

Thanks mhs4771. I'll look at Ocean Waves also. Never been there so it's a lot of research for now. I appreciate the input.

It's about midway of the banks. Easy travel either direction. OBs are beautiful. Kill Devils Hill, Kitty Hawk, Light houses, Ocracoke, Lost Colony, Black Beard, you will enjoy your visit. Surf fishing at its best.
