Sewer hose choices, what do you like best?

The new Monty is only 3 weeks away, give or take, and one thing I was planning to get is a replacement sewer hose. I assume (big assumption here) that the stock hose is one of the flimsy kind? If so, there are several different types out there. On the last 5th, I used a rigid Rhino hose and liked it a lot. Are there other hoses that people like? What do you feel about the sewer hose support structures if you're only camping for 3-10 days at a time? I know a few people with macerators, what do you think of those vs a standard hose? Is it worth the cost?

I like the red Valterra hoses they've worked great for me. Had a Dominator for years in direct sunlight, it finally gave up my the last time I dumped. I'd buy one of those again if the Valterra wasn't available. The one that came from my dealer went straight in the trash it was junk. I use a standard slinky, only takes a minute to setup. At first I was using the swing out thing on the Monty but have since taken it off. Never used a macerator and haven't had a need.

X2 on the Valterra hoses. Also it is a good idea to get one of those clear fittings that allow you to see when your black tank is clean when running a flush. The hose supports are required at some parks, usually because the city or county has regulations in place that call for that. You will find that an assortment of lengths of hose will make life easier due to all the different locations of the sewer connections in parks.

We use the Rhinoflex system which is similar to others that are on the market and sounds like what you used. We do use the accordian type support to maintain positive drainage from the rig outlet with a clear 45 degree elbow at the rig connection to monitor the discharge. Like others, have never had a need for a macerator. We also carry one of the rubber donut rings for those parks that do not have threaded connections on their sewer connections. I do carry about 30 foot of the original cheap dealer supplied hose for those rare events when my 20 foot Rhinoflex is not long enough (and we have had to use the longer hose occasionally).

I prefer the Rhino. I like the way the ends attach and the way they swivel. Current Rhino is 3 years old and we full time.

I've a Rhino 20' that I got for our previous TT. When we traded it in for our Monty last spring I found it wouldn't fit into the boom (too long). Figured I'd give the boom a try though and picked up a Camco 2 x 10' hose. Had to grind off the ears on the fittings a bit, but one section fit into the boom fine. After the third time out I ditched the boom though - too much hassle. Since then, interestingly enough, we've been to two different campgrounds where I needed all three to reach the sewer connection. Both had water & elec. right there, but the sewer connection way off. Several years back I learned the hard way to have two water hoses for the same reason. Anyway, none of this weighs much, and it really is nice to be able to completely hook up when you want to!

I carry 2, the Rhino that I use and an extra 30 feet of el cheapo. I use a macerator pump when I am at the farm because it is 65 feet to the sewer connection. I don't carry it and never needed it

No hoses come with the Monty, unless your dealer is kind enough to supply a starter kit. So , you will probably have a choice. Even if a starter kit is included, he might let you trade for your choice. I carry two 15 ft Rhinos and two 10 ft ones. Recently doubled from two to four because we had a stay near Duke Hospital for treatment and needed them all!

We use the rhino system and it works well for us. With low use such as yours it should last a long time. We do use a support system to keep it off the ground. With high use they will get dirty inside no matter how well you maintain them and they will dry out when left out for long periods. The more you use the RV and related items the the quicker they fail.

I can't recall the brand name of the black/red hose we use. It is the type that expands. We have enough to run over 30'. At our summer campground I use 4" PVC with rubber fittings. That run is only about 5 feet and almost straight out and down from discharge. I figure the time we spend in the hot weather up north I can keep my stinky-slinky cleaned up and stored thus allowing it to last longer. The PVC will last for almost ever.

I use the sewer solution system, with 15` of flexable pvc hose/pipe. I carry 20` of ridged pvc with slip couplings in case I need a longer run. I made 2 connectors for the campground dumps using a 3inch and a four inch threaded plug, drilling hole in center of each plug. Then I inserted a short 1 inch nipple through the hole, glued a couplng on underside of nipple and then glued a 1 inch 90 degree elbow on the topside of nipple. The 3/4 inch pvc pipe has a 3/4 to one inch bushing that slides into the elbow. All this makes for airtight connections that work very well for me. When it is time to relocate the jet assembly cleans the piping out so you dont have the stinky slinky residue to contend with. The only time I have had any issues with this in when there was a couple of "wet wipes" dropped in the toilet. It just took awhile to break them down and sendem through.

We use the Rhino system also. We removed our tube and use the expandable support (we call it the slinky) system also. We carry two extensions just in case. Have only had to use one of them so far.

Sewer Solution here also with a Dominator "slinky" as emergency backup (which I have only used once).

We also have the same setup as Bingo. Has worked for us for several years now. I really like the end caps on our Rhino hose, makes it nice not having water dripping out of the hose when putting away. Keep the other flimsy slinky stored in the sewer boom.

We have the Blueline Ultimate Sewer line kit from Campingworld and bought an extra 10 feet so we have 30 total. We found it to be very flexible and usable. We use and accordion style support underneath it when needed. I like this kit as I only use what I need. 10, 20 or 30 feet.

It gets great reviews.

Sewer Solution with extensions. So much esaier than the regular sewer hoses like the Camco and Rhino.

Sewer solution for us. Significantly simpler than having to level a drain pipe or have to worry about having enough water in the gray tanks to wash out the drain pipe.

We use the Rhino hose 15 ft. kit and also have a 10 ft. rhino extension hose. Also have the slinky to hold the off the ground and give proper drainage.
