Bicycles, Scooters, or What?

Just working on my bike, and got to thinking, what does everyone use to run around with. We have a 26" folding bike, that I use when out with the 5ver and the DW is getting ready to pick hers out. So what do you all use for local mobility?

I don't know what LPC is. But I usually bring two wheels and motor.

We use recumbent trikes, laid back and easy on the backside, spin fast or slow and don't fall over. You can use panniers or basket on a rack for groceries or laundry, and no balancing required. You can even buy a two wheel cargo cart that attaches to the back and has a battery/electric motor for those days when when you would rather be pushed.

For short and trips and rallies we have a couple of bikes. Here at our winter park we did bring the bikes but we have a Golf cart for transportation as this is a large park. we can even get to some stores and restaurants on the cart without going on city streets.

We tote our trikes around with a HitchRider double trike rack ($700) slightly modified as I typically customize most everything. On previous Monty had a 2" rear receiver installed that worked great. On the new Monty we waited just a bit to make sure of no frame issues. Having a new Curt 2" RV receiver hitch ($321 plus 8" extension) welded onto our 12" I-beams this week at local machine shop. Our new hitch is similar to what Oz and others have posted pics, plus 1.25" receiver outrigger stabilizers. We have one folding model, a Mantis Hill Climber($2,000), and one that easily disassembles, a TW Bent ($1,500), and have temporarily nested them in front of the hitch in truck bed. New Monty with trikes on rack in back will be just over 43 ft. long. We have also considered getting a Rans Screamer tandem with SS couplers for ease of transport.

Our Scooters in my pic work for us and they are FUN, we just made sure they are over 80cc so they can go at least 40 mph to keep up with local traffic but small and light enough to transport, one on the rack up front and one in the bed behind the cab OR just buy One 150cc so both of you can ride on it, Anything over 150cc is just too big and heavy

Bigskyjimmy, what do your scooters weigh?

the little Honda Elite 80 on the left weighs 172 lbs and the 150cc Chinese scooter on the right weighs 220 and that is as heavy as I want or need for a scooter, we used to have 50cc MOPEDS but they only go about 25-30mph just not quite fast enough for us, The Scooters you see are EASY to load and Unload get 80 mpg and go 45mph and 55 mph respectivly

2 bikes carried on the back of Montana. Do a lot of biking in Arizona during the winter months.

Like Big sky Jimmy 2 scoots 2 trek bikes. Carry the same one on front of truck one up in bed 2 bikes on bike rack on back of Monty.
