Retirement Work Schedule

I will be retiring the end of October. I am leaving a very structured work environment with Daily Task List, Weekly Task List and Monthly Task List. So retirement won't be such a shock to I thought I needed to at least put together a daily task list as due to weather and other circumstances the weekly and montly might be too hard to accomplish. So here is my proposed daily task list.

Monday - well Mondays are now considered part of the week end so I need to use that day to wind down and rest up for the big day Tuesday.
Tuesday - 9:00Am til 10:59, plan your activies. At9:01 till 10:59 is break time - enjoy some coffee ect. Lunch break will begin at 11:00 till 2:00PM. Then at 2:00PM till 2:30 it is Nap time. Then from2:30 till 4:00 it is break time. At 4:00 happy hour begins (It is 5:00 somewhere).
Wednesday - Use this day to finish what you didn't get done Tuesday.
Thursday - becomes personal day - do whatever, fishing, shopping etc.
Friday - weekend prepare day - actually it is officially part of the weekend.
Now all time schedules is approximated as I will throw my watch away.

Repeat this schedule for next week.

So with this schedule I should enter retirement with a good plan.
What do you think - those of you retired - do I need to make some adjustment?

Big problem on Tuesday. You need to shorten your lunch time and extend the nap time. Other than that it looks pretty good especially the happy hour time. Welcome to the wonderful world of retirement. Now it's time for my nap.

Sounds like a great schedule, just stick to it or if something better and more fun comes up do it. Also learn to say 'NO' as now eveyone who is looking for the available volunteer will call. Enjoy retirement. Been doing it since 1998 and haven't looked back.

Make sure you fit in Drs appointments, eye appointments, Dentists, etc. etc. That's all part of your social life as you get older.

I think you need a secretary to keeps your schedule current and remind you of when to do what. Then fire her.

I'm retiring the end of November, so your plan is timely info for me. I was going to just plan every day for what fun or relaxing thing I would do the next. Your system is much more organized though....

More nap time is needed and more time to do what you want.

OK Now you need to change your clock. My clock shows only the days of the week but not the time, or day of month, or temp, or moon phase. Don't need to know them.

The sun comes up (breakfast time) and the sun goes down (happy hour/supper time). All else is for those people who haven't reached the proper retirement attitude.

Welcome to the group.

Glad to see I'm not alone with a very active schedule. Sometimes it's hard fitting in all the things I like to do.

Well I am going to have to practice this new thing called a nap. I am not the type that naps, I always feel worse after a nap. So I may just have to bump happy hour up an hour or two.
