Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas

We're going to be in Las Vegas in May and interested in booking a bus tour to the Grand Canyon. Any feedback on tour companies would be appreciated.

Send a message via Yahoo to NCFischers
Try the helicopter tour into the Grand Canyon with a stop at the bottom for lunch.

Dennis we would be interested in your travels to Las Vegas as we are going thru there mid August. Were scheduled in the Thousand Trails Reserve there in Las Vegas and wanted to take a trip out to hover dam.

Ken,

The Hoover Dam tour is very interesting, but not as good as it used to be. Ever since 9/11, all of the extra security protocols have kind of diminished the tour a bit, but there is still a lot to see.

The new Hoover Dam by-pass bridge project should be interesting to see as well. It should be pretty near done.

Be warned that the highway across the dam is sometimes closed to semis and RV traffic. When we were returning from taking delivery of our 3605RL in Indiana last November, we were detoured to the west on Hwy 68 past Bullhead City, and then north on Hwy 95 into Vegas, instead of the more direct way up Hwy 93.

This isn't a bus tour, but a train to the canyon, then you get on the tour bus there. We had a great time.

We took the grand canyon tour but went to Sedona to stay first. From there it is abour 90 minutes to the canyon and well worth it. If you want to leave from there, there are about 3 good tour companies in Sedona. We also went to the dam but from Vegas, just ask at one of the hotels for tour info, they will be very helpful. You can again go to the tubine area at the dam,so it is worth the trip and looking up at the new bridge under construction is also quite a sight.

Thanks for the info. We'll be in Vegas next week, so we'll check out the tours.
