Keystone does listen

When we ordered the new Big Sky, one of the glaring oversights on the part of Keystone was that the previous rigs we looked at had outside receptacle covers that were white and placed directly in the middle of the paint scheme. Obviously, these white covers stood out like a sore thumb. During the purchase process, I brought this to the attention of the regional sales rep (Mark Krol) and he assured me, the covers would be changed. I am glad to report that both ours and Georges units came with the dark receptacle covers on the outside, so at least we know that Keystone does listen. My understanding is that going forward the white covers will not be used on the Big Sky's. This leads to an observation that both George and I noticed when we on the dealers lot that pertains to a High County model that was there for service. In the midst of the color scheme for the High Country, right smack in the middle of the paint was a white water heater cover! It amazes me that Keystone cannot see these details with their own eyes, but at least they acknowledged our input and changed accordingly, hopefully, the white covers on the High Country will be changed as well.

Could it have been an older High Country? Our 2013 has a black water heater cover, etc.

It probably was. I will say the black covers look way better than the white ones! Thanks for the update. Ironically, the black outer covers for the receptacles were pilfered from the High Country line according to Keystone!

I am glad to hear they listen to our input! The SOB I worked for used to send reps out to campgrounds to gather ideas for product improvements

Our HC 2012, all black outside covers, including 120 outlets. This one was built January, 2012. Yep, white would no have worked out well.

It's good that they listen. You'll know they are really into good looks when the paint scheme of the sides of the slides blend in with, and match, the paint scheme of the body...when the slides are extended.

It's always been a puzzle to me. Keystone is great about listening, but you would figure they should do a better job of figuring some things out for themselves. They must not encourage input from the assembly floor.

Rich,
Unless my eyesight is completely failing me, on your signature photo, it appears there is something white next to the basement where you are standing. Isn't that a white outer receptacle cover? That is what is black on our Big Sky. They are not painted, though.

Yup, Rich's electrical outlet cover is white just like the rest of us before the recent change to black. The white cover bugged me so much I paid to have it painted to match the background. Of course it had three colors going through it. $$$ Had it been black to begin with I would have left it alone. They painted most of all the other covers (water heater, furnace, refer) so why not paint the electrical cover?

I agree also. I replaced not only the white recept cover with black, I also replaced the white door hook with a black one. If it didn't cost so much, I would replace the white AC covers with black too. If I were to do all this it would make our 2013 a 2014!!
