Looking For Tire Info

I know there are some tire experts out there. I'm looking for a tire that will give me a SOFTER ride without lowering my load rating. The tires on my truck are Goodyear (rear) G622 RSD 225/R70/19.5 Load Range F, (front) G647 RSS 225/R70/19.5 Load Range F. I also know I have to be aware of dually spacing. The truck is a Dodge 5500 Charoit Hauler w/ Kelderman 2 bag air ride. Any ideas or help out there. Thanks, Kerry

kerry, I don't think you are going to find a 19.5 inch 12 ply tire any "softer" than you now have. I would suggest weighing the rig and adjusting the air pressure in the tires accordingly. If they are aired up to the max psi and it isn't needed you will have a very harsh ride. If you don't already have them, air ride seats will also help.

And when you're not towing, drop those airbags to their minimum required pressure! I love air bags, but they will screw up the ride big time if not properly inflated/deflated.

I'm working on the air ride seats now. I ordered the parts to convert my stock seats, got the parts in the mail today. I'll keep everyone posted. Kerry

Kerry those Air ride seats will make a huge difference in your ride. I had a Chevy Kodiak 4500 with the Chariot Hauler bed with a Link Air ride suspension, but it also had Air ride seats. The Link Air suspension had a automatic leveling system and the ride was great. It also had 19.5's by Michelin. Our Freightliner is full Air ride, suspension, seats and Cab. The bags automatically adjust to what ever weight is on the suspension. GBY....
