"Almost got another deer today"

There are lots of deer out there!
While coming home from work today on U. S. 23 a deer jumped out in front of me. I seen it and had time to slow down to avoid hitting it. There is at least one guy on here that has to watch out for bear; isn’t that right Bingo? At least I don’t have to go to work “Loaded for Bear.”

That would have been my 3rd deer encounter; but not with this Tow Vehicle. I’m sure we could all say “I would like to have a dollar for every time I’ve spotted a deer while driving.” Anyway, those dollars would be enough for a down payment on a new Monty or more!

On Edit: BTW, my tow Vehicle is my every day vehicle!

And for those who have had the honor to hit a deer, they will do just as much damage to a vehicle as a bear. Those of us who see them regularly can spot the green lights (eyes) on the side of the road at night like it was a regular sighting during the day. Glad you didn't have a real up-close encounter Bill. A good reminder for all to be on the alert out there.

What? The deer wasn't insured?

I got the deer whistles and put them on our rig after a couple of incidents and now it is interesting to see them runor jump off the road. I had talked to a friend who had them and his reply was "after I put them on I did not hit anymorre deer"

Tom S, not only didn' he have insurance but he got up and walked away. He was on his back in the road and the car behind me had to drive around it. By the time he stopped and got out Bambi was gone. I didn't bother with Fish and Game because I didn't have the deer for proof.

I got 4 with my Bluebird school bus all in two winters and on the same stretch of road. Mountain on one side..drop off on the other. Every time I dropped down that hill.(Still dark) I was all eyes but they would jump right off the mountain and on the road..and bang. The bluebird is a transit style bus so the front end is right there... Fortunately we were much bigger and higher than the deer.
