"Maybe", "possibly", "suggests"

From a cnn.com article this AM:
Quote:
quote:NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Oil prices plummeted Wednesday, bringing a two-day selloff to more than $11 a barrel, after the government's weekly inventory report suggested record high gasoline prices may be reducing the nation's energy consumption.
WHAT??? This is what is so aggravating to the American public. It should read:
Quote:
quote:NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Oil prices plummeted Wednesday, bringing a two-day selloff to more than $11 a barrel, after the government's weekly inventory report leaves no doubt record high gasoline prices are definitely reducing the nation's energy consumption.
It's like these people don't have a clue and these reporters/analysts/experts still have a hard time admitting that there IS a DEFINITE problem. This wishy-washy approach from our leaders/authorities are almost as upsetting as the price of oil/fuel itself.

Dave,

Maybe they participate in the no doom and gloom gang. If you don't say it out loud or specifically state it in the printed word, it is not so??

High fuel prices did not contribute to the recent annoucement from GM, did they?? Those salaried employees that are going to lose their medical benefits, they are not affected by the high price of fuel, are they?

Nahhhhhhhh, they were just unlucky enough to work for GM in a salaried position. I am so glad Al worked for Fords and was an hourly employee. This will not affect me, eh??

But, I am not concerned, I am not concerned, I am not concerned. I repeat 3 times, like Dorothy of Wizard of Oz, heck, it worked for her, it will work for me, right??

Must be the heat and high humidity here in southern Michigan has affected my attitude!! Yea, that's it!

Dave-- Couldn't be that the drop in price was attributed to the Pres. making the announcement of opening up the off shore well drilling could it?

Carol-- You have to remember to click your heels also if you want the three times to work!

Just speculators taking profits. If you have been watching the commodities market this has been happening all along. Drive the price up, take profits the market drops, then buy low and drive the market up....Millions are being made here ..at our expense and our countries decline.
