"Acclimated" to Florida temps......
Man I am freezing. Gotta get my thermal long John's out. Where is my winter coat and gloves. Dear, where'd you put my earmuffs. Darn it I know I have more than just shorts, where in "H" are my pants. Can't find any of my long sleeve shirts either. Look at that "IDIOT" Glenn over there by his Montana with nothing on but shorts and a tee shirt. IS HE NUTZ?? Doesn't he know it's only 55°'s out there. He'll end up with pneumonia yet.
What do you mean the furnace won't kick on? Didn't I tell ya to check the gas??? Do I have to do everything?
Why did I spend all this money to come down here anyway? I should have stayed in back in New York this winter.
What do ya mean it's a freezing 30° up there and they are only expecting a high today of 35° with more snow coming in? Really??? Guess it ain't so bad down here after all.
Hey Glenn, mind if I join ya??

John, it's always shorts here in west central Florida as well. Found the further south you go the hotter it gets. I don't do hot very well but maybe someday I just might give southern FL a try for a week or so.

I live in NE Florida full time...and sadly it can get cold. Just a couple of weeks ago we had a cold snap. While walking the dogs, a neighbor passed and said, "Must be winter, Joe's in a long sleeve shirt and is wearing pants." True, because the uniform of the day for me is almost always shorts and tees.

Ain't that the truth.
I must admit that last February we did have a cold spell and for 3 straight days I resorted to jeans and a sweat shirt but only in the morning. As is usually the case it warms right back up by early afternoon.

Glenn, across the Gulf from you here in extreme South Texas, it's cold as well. Monday is promised to be in the 70's here. I just looked at the weather, today, it seems you Floridians have warmer weather, we must be a day behind. I did enjoy your clever post. Hang in there...

Wow, That sounds terrible, and to think it is a blistering 63 here in Savannah and going to get up to a scorching 70 today. I have suffered through these unbelievably hot days since leaving Wisconsin. I don't think I will even get to use my jackets or long pants. I may end up having to buy more shorts and T-shirts. If it gets any hotter here I may have to shift into speedos. That would be a very bad thing for the wild life around here. We have been hoping for a cold front to cool off things around here so we can enjoy winter. Sheesh, why do folks go south for the winter? All the nice cold weather is up north? ... Dave and Betsy

What I have noticed is that the temp swings her in central and south FL are very minimal. I love the weathermen who come on prior to the local news and dramatically announce a "BIG change in the weather" as a "major cold front sweeps through!!! STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!!!" In N. MI that would mean a change from 25-30 degrees to -20 degrees. Here, they are talking about a daytime high of 74-75 instead of the normal 80. And they are very serious about this.
Cheryl and I joke about this all the time. But we are like Glenn - we're trying to get acclimated...

Oh contraire my friend. The last thing I want is to be is accilmated to Florida's temps. No way do I want to feel shivering cold, as many Floridians do, when it is only 50 to 60° outside. No way do I want to bundle up when it's just 40° and no way on God's green earth do I ever want to get used to the 90s plus with Hi humidity.
The past month has had some warm temps but many days in the 40s night and daytime highs in the low to mid 70s. This is my kind of weather but to many folks down here it's like freezing cold.
To give you an idea of how they like warm down here, the campground keeps the pool's water temp at 85°. Kinda like swimming in bath water. During these COOL days the campground fills twice as many propane cylinders as normal. There was only one night that we had the furnace on and that night it went down to the low 40s with 20 mph winds.

I know when we have had a bad winter in central Florida. I end up wearing long pants for a total of 10-14 days all winter. Now that was a cold winter.
Somebody said coats. Coats, I own windbreakers and jackets but only 1 medium coat.
That's my gauge of winter YMMV.
