Congrats! Just got mine last week (only 4, $700 plus install).
Helpful tip...ask the installers to mount the tires on the wheels with the white bar code stickers facing INSIDE (unless you think they look really cool!).

Question on tire size. Recently purchased a 2011 3400RL. Looking at the tires the vehicle had an obvious tire blowout. But I noticed upon further inspection that the tires are LT235/85R16. The label on the trailer indicates they should be ST235/80R16. I am a bit confused as to why the previous owner was running LT's on this trailer. They need replaced, there is obvious checking in between the treads. What should I replace them with? I want reliable and worry free within a reasonable price range.

I would go back to an ST235/80R16, or the 85R16 if you prefer. The ST tires are specifically made for trailers. The 85's are 1/2 inch taller than the 80's, so not much difference. Also, if memory serves, the 85's add a slight bit more weight capacity, but you're still limited by the axles, so not really a factor. I plan to go to 85's when I replace my original ST235/80R16 Sailuns. My only reason is that I run a bit nose high, so the added height of the 85's will help get things towing more level.

Dick, enjoy the new Sailun’s. You will love them. SparkCV, if you do searches on the forum, you will find 90% of people are running Sailun’s or Goodyear G614’s. I have had both, and I have had good luck with both. Sailun’s and G614’s are both G rated tires. Check your rims to see if they are stamped 110 psi on the inside. There are two reasons people go to LT tires, they have a lighter trailer (not a 3400) or to save money. The LT tires will typically have a max rating around 3200 lbs. You have 7000 lb axles. I would not want my tires to be the weak link in the equation. Just my 2 cents. Before we were educated through the MOC, we made a lot of less than scientific decisions. If you understand the numbers on tires and trucks, you can make educated decisions on your safety. Best of luck.

I think a reason for LT over ST is speed. If I remember correctly, ST's are limited to 65mph. I have run Michelin tires for 15 years now. My rigs haven't been real big, so probably have 6000 lb axles.
I don't normally drive over 65, but sometimes you get rolling down a long hill or occasionally need to get somewhere sooner, and I run 65-68.
I also think I read that Sailuns are okay for 75mph now too. Oh, I also can't switch because my rims are 80lb limited.

Speed rating does depend on the tire itself. The Sailun S637's are rated 75 MPH. I usually only run 65 too, but my concern is stopping, now how fast I can go.

I do not have quick access to the RV, it is still at the dealer. Pick up on May 19th. It does have 8 lugs on the wheel. Is that a reasonable indicator of psi rating?

Simple Tire is great to deal with. Sounds like you are due for new rubber.

ST235/80R16 (14) SAILUN S637 ST - Replacement @ ~ 10K miles

Performed a pre-trip inspection 14 June and found 4 areas of missing tread and a couple of "flaps" (tread that you could pull off) on the passenger side, rear of the originally installed Sailun Tires. See photo. All other tires were fine. These tires had about 10K miles on them & were manufactured in 2017. These Sailun tires seemed to have held up well in my opinion but I was surprised to find this failure / defect at only 10K mi and 4 years.

While anxious to get on the road, (needed to help a injured relative some 800 mi away) took the time to order and replace all four with new Sailun the next day. Tires were about $160 ea, plus stems, labor, disposal & of course tax.

Started the trip at 2 PM rather than 8 AM but better than being on the side of I40 in +100F changing tires! I figured it would have been a safe gamble to just replace the one but we have an "full US swing" with our travel group in the fall, followed by Alaska - assuming border opens next year. So now 1,600 miles on the tires without incident.

I've got 12.5K on mine that were installed July of 2019 and they still look like new, but these are the 17.5" H rated running 125 PSI because we're heavy.

Wow, that is a bit unusual for the Sailuns from all I've read about them!

Assuming you know for sure that it wasn't underinflated (and thus overheating)?

Smart of you to go ahead and replace all 4!

Those tires have never needed air - no leakage, they have been good tires wear wise. I regularly inspect & where possible monitor critical components, tires as we all know are critical. As a result I have tire monitors on all four, they are never more than 5 degrees from each other when running, depending upon this position of the sun. In this part of the country this time of year +/-120F running is not unusual.
Don’t know why that one started to come apart, but confidence in Sailun not shaken by it & happy inspection caught it. .

Thanks for sharing your experience...it's a good reminder for everyone to be diligent to do a walkaround/inspection of your trailer (and tow vehicle) before heading out on the road!
