Full Body Paint or NOT
May be fixin to pull the trigger on a 3121rl. Dealer making a great deal on the works including full body paint.
Those that have it what do you think about durability and any chipping.
What would look best with silver Ram dually? Please do not respond with a Ford or GM!

I’m not sure, but check to see if the full body paint option includes clearcoat. We had a SOB 5er that had painted nose and end cap that was not clearcoated and the nose was so oxidized it had to be repainted in less than two years.
Full body paint looks super sharp, but it is subject to some chips from rocks, especially on the lower front.

I would love full paint as the Florida sun 365 days a year kills the decals.

If you can get the full paint do it. Much easier to look after... better shine etc.. Miss not having it...

Pick whatever color combo is lighter as the dark colors really absorb the heat and make the rigs a little harder to cool

Folks I have talked with are very happy with the full body paint, and their rigs stay sharp looking. Couple of folks have experienced chips, but found the correct touch up paint. All indicated clearcoat standard. Wish we had the full body paint. About to wax and buff ours again.

Out 2013 3402 big sky chipped badly on the lower front. We are long timers and do many road miles. We had tough coat bed liner applied on the lower front to prevent chipping. Keystone tends to change colors. Two of our colors are no longer used and touch up paint is not cheap. We looked at many paint jobs at the fall rallies and all of them had chipping. Ours did have the clear coat.It did not help.In out experience and opinion the full body paint was a mistake. We would not do it again. your choice of course.

We thought about it but the extra expense just isn't worth it for us, but we are going with a 3121RL, King Bed Option and Slide Toppers, no legacy package either, don't need it.
So far best deal I can get a dealer to come down on 3121 is about 30% off MSRP which is about $80K, curious to see roughly what others are getting. We have our rig listed on Craigslist, and some other places, we could trade it but best they will give us is $2,000 less then low retail

I have seen some companies using diamond plate aluminum on the lower front area. Seems like a good idea to shield against chipping and it looks good

One thing to consider at least where we live is you don't pay taxes on the trade in value. That can save thousands depending on your tax rate.

If you opt for FBP, you could get a clear protectant over the front of the Montana. Some motor homes have it, don't know any products.

my opinion is that is personal preference. It is a large expenditure when you are buying the trailer (about $10?). I think it is beautiful but that is a lot of money. Also, if you are planning on keeping it for a long time that is one thing. If you are planning on keeping it for a few years, that $10K will be gone because it does not really add any value to the trailer at trade in time.

If you get 30% off the MSRP you also get 30% off the cost of the paint. We did not necessary want the full body paint but got a very good deal on the 13 Big Sky. Full Body paint is now more and more popular OEM on many brands and does add value on trade in or selling outright. If it is a $$ issue don't get it.Again we would not purchase full body paint if purchasing again. Having sold one Montana a 06 3400 when we purchased this 13 3402 you will find the Montana is a good seller and holds it value better than many other brands in the price range. Our 06 3400 sold in 3 days.BTW the Mor Ryde IS system on the 06 3400 also got us more money and was the reason the buyer wanted it.

We got a 3160RL (same model as the 3120 in 2018 except kitchen swapped sides). Fully loaded with FBP, generator and legacy package (no slide toppers). Paid $15k less than your quote.
