Exide battery

Need new batteries for my 2008 2500HD Duramax. Home Depot carries Exide batteries in correct size but states the battery needs 15mm top ledge for proper fitment. Anyone know what 15mm top ledge is? Home Depot doesn't know.

You might want to look in to Interstate batteries. They have their own brand that are manufactured by the same company that makes the Optimas (which Interstate also sells) but with a longer warranty than the Optimas. I have driven diesels for many years and when I replace the OEM batteries I go to Interstate with the longest replacement warranty. Then I always go to them a month or two before the warranty runs out and have them test the battery. In the rare case one fails they put a new one in at no cost to me and then the warranty starts all over again. Just my $.02.

I replaced my batteries this past summer on my 2007 Chevy 3500 diesel.Bought them at Costco and installed them myself. Nine years is pretty good service from the stock batteries.

You beat me. Mine will be 8 years old next month and still working. Don't think it will make another winter though. Showing early signs of giving out. I guess yours were Delco like mine. If I could find Delco at reasonable price that would be way I'd go.
Thanks drjjj for reply. Interstate is a consideration for sure.
