Equipment Adjustments

For our trip back north I had added two things to the TV recently. The Rock Tamers and a front Bodiak hitch w/bike rack. Good thing our first day was only a 3 hour run up to Lazy Days CG (free night). Turns out I didn't cut the Rock Tamers short enough, so they had to come back off the truck until I could cut another 2" off last night. Bodiak hitch was okay even though it allowed both bicycles to stick up above the hood slightly. I was able to make adjustments to the rack and now they are almost even with the hood which won't bug me as much. Just when you think you have this stuff figured out....bang

RVing is just like they used to say on Laugh-in. " if it isn't one thing it's another."

What kind of bike rack are you using with your Bodiak? We have decided that we will most likely be getting one to use to haul the bikes, but holding it up to where it would mount in the hitch, it looks like our current bike rack will stick up a good 3" or so above the hood -- and that is without bikes on it. (obviously not a good thing!)
Thanks!

I picked up a Reese Rack from Walmart. It holds 2 bicycles, is the "V" style, and fully adjustable. I was able to adjust it last night so that I can barely see both bicycle seats from driver's seat. I can still see the handle bars on my bike which probably stick up 3" or 4" over the hood, but of course I am looking at them sideways so it really doesn't block my view of anything. I could probably remove them but I was just too lazy. Today we drove over 430 miles in rain, some wind, and a couple bumpy 2 lane roads. Bodiak hitch and cheap Reese ($79.00) bike rack was solid and nothing moved. I am really happy with this set up.
