Where can i buy a cover for the roof vent in the bedroom of a 3670. Mine left while going down the road. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Any decent RV supply place can help you out. I don't know if you mean the crank up type or not but the crank up types have a tendency to fly away if left up in transit. I put Maxxi Air over mine and now leave them up most of the time.

We try to put the vents down (all are under Max Air covers) when we travel, to keep out the dust and dirt. Last time I forgot, I had all kinds of cinder type dirt in the bathroom (toilet room). Keep them up a open a lot (with Max Air covers) during storage times (summer, not winter) to help vent the excess heat.

Thanks for the info. The top was cracked when i bought trailer. Maxxi air seems like the way to go.

Yep...MaxxAir covers are the way to go. They install OVER your vent covers so replace your missing vent cover and then get MaxxAir.

Although I still think Maxxi Air is the way to go, I have just discovered something disturbing. Adding them (or anything else)to your roof voids the warrranty on the roof. Apparently mine worked up and down and cut the rubber membrane. I can see the wood underneath. I did not think I needed to caulk around them but I guess I should have. Now I have to fix the roof.

CmdrDewey..... Thanks for the info. You can bet we'll (meaning hubby gets to climb up there) be checking out our MaxxAir vents and probably caulking them.

Are you in reference to the Maxx Air which attaches to the permanent vent with crank? I am under the impression mine are attached to the permanent vent with a bracket near each corner. I do not think the Max Air touches the roof. The Maxx Air I am in reference to is the one which can be left open at all times if desired. Are we talking about the same item? Thanks!

We are talking about the same thing. The brackets fasten to the housing for the regular vent. Some of my brackets were sort of hanging out there with no support and that allowed the cover to move up and down slightly. The cover contacted the roof and cut it. I have now fixed the roof and put enough caulking under the cover and the brackets so neither can move.

I installed the new AERO vent covers from CW. You can remove the top (2 Piece Constuction)to clean.When you install the Max Air or the AERO you need to make sure you have clearance above the roof

Re voiding the warranty. How come the dealer who sells the Montana sells them with the Max vents installed? Mine was part of the package.

The Dicor web page says that if you add anything to the roof, it voids the roof warranty. That is what it says in black and white, what it means in real terms, I don't know.

I guess technically you aren't really adding or installing anything ON your roof. You are attaching something to the existing roof vent housing. But since I'm NOT a lawyer I have NO idea what I'm talking about. I just know I'm putting some on! I hear good things about them.

Do you install them on your Fantastic Fan vents as well?

No, I didn't put them on the Fantastic Fan but I have the automatic one. Good call incidentally, I am a lawyer and I did not pick up on that distinction.

Dennis we got them they work well. Be sure to get them well centered or you may find that they may catch the crankup vent covers and keep them from closing tightly.

The ones we have are not large enough to also cover the Fantastic Fan Vent Cover. I thought I saw some larger ones somewhere but can't remember where at the moment.

It seems to me that they do somewhat cut down on the air flow because of the extra screen etc. So I think someday we may get a second Fantastic fan installed.

Ours don't touch the roof, either. They're mounted to those L brackets that also are mounted to the vertical metal surfaces of the original vent. We also wouldn't be without the maxxair vent covers. Like Al & Carol, we keep the vents closed during transit because we also found we were getting a lot of dust and grit when on the road with them open.
