Spare Tire ??

My 2011 Big Sky 3580RL came with the G614 Good Year tires and aluminum wheels. Part of the Big Sky package says G Rated tires and Aluminum wheels. My spare tire is a G614 but it is mounted on a white spoked steel rim. Anyone with the BIg Sky packsge got a white steel spoked rim on their spare? To me a G614 package with aluminum rims means all 5 tires and rims.

Don't have a Big Sky, but have four aluminum wheels and one steel one. Keystone saving money where they can.

Keystone/Montana has always supplied a steel wheel for the spare regardless of what type of rims are on the axles. Obviously a $$$ saving strategy.

Same here ... 4 aluminums on the ground one steel up in the air. Really no different than the spare in the trunk of your car or under the back of your truck.

Our G614 spare is on a steel rim. Why pay for a high $$ rim when chances are you may never see it on the camper.

I have a steel spare and be sides cost, think the reason to wear on aluminum rim. Had a flat once and ask the AAA tow guy to put the rim under the trailer. He said he could but in is not a good idea. There would be possible damage to the rim by the way it might wear against the frame in the way it is mounted to trailer.

Same here. The Monte and my last three trucks have had nice aluminum wheels on the ground and steel on the spares. And none of the spares has ever felt the ground.

2002 Ford F250, 7.3 Diesel, Crew Cab, 4 x 4, short bed, Top of the line with every thing on it. 4 custom aluminum rims on the ground and custom aluminum rim on the spare tire. Someone must have screwed up at the factory.

Did you buy truck new? If not I'm thinking someone swapped it out. I know I have looked on ebay trying to get single rim to match my truck to put on my spare. That way I could rotate it with my other 4 tires. Shame to have a 5 year old tire that has never been on the ground.

Bought the truck brand new Oct 20, 2001 price $37,436.20, tax and everything else out the door $40,602.88. Been a great truck, around $4,000 of extras added over the last 12 years
