Look who's copying us!!
Thought everyone would enjoy this. They are planning a rally in Quartzsite in February and are planning on having a circle like ours. Pictures are from our rally in 2009. Our circle sure has grown since then.

Reality Shows have spin offs and are a dime a dozen. But, Wow this is really a spin off of the MOC Q Rally. They even charge $50.

I'll take the responsibility of being the one who invited Howard and Linda Payne to a MOC circling of the Montanas a couple of years ago.

We have been using the Pit Stop mainly for our water source. We fill our water bladder (about 40 gallons) and get our drinking water there using their RO taps (reverse osmosis) and our 1 and 3 gallon jugs at $.25 per gallon. They have a dump station also and propane etc. We normally use one of the mobile sewage sucker trucks as they come right out to where you are camped and you don't have to leave. One of our favorites we used were two women just starting out that called their new business "The Honey Suckers" .

The "Pit Stop" is just about everyone's one stop for everything. They have a dump station, fresh water for 5 cents per gallon, propane, RO water, and ice.
If you plan on boondocking in the area, I suggest you stop there first.

Don't forget to bring everything you need to camp on this free to use government land. Our fee is ONLY $50 and we provide absolutely nothing!
Where do I sign up?

Howard and Linda are very well known full-timers. I am sure that the money they are charging will be used to assure the new boon-dockers a great time.. The fact that he is using the same MOC plan just shows you that he has good taste.

I agree with Helen. Snarkiness here is really not appropriate. These folks obviously love full-timing and have done a good deal of homework in setting up their web site, as well as providing opportunities for groups of RVers who may not be associated with a group such as this.
And charging $50 for the experience is neither inappropriate nor crude. I've read many posts on this forum about donating to MOC for the website or other group expenses. But I've seen no financial accounting here of what happens to the donations, and no one has problems with that.
So, even though I may get asked to find another club (again), I think we should just take some pride in the fact that someone else likes our ideas enough to "spread the wealth" among folks. If they want to charge for the privilege of parking their rigs in a circle that someone HERE drew in the sand, big deal. Are we all about promoting the lifestyle or what? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery (or whatever).

Pat, you are right. Helen too has a good point. I enjoy their website, as do many others. I think most of the comments are just said in jest and should not be taken too seriously! I'm actually surprised more groups don't copy our circle in Quartzsite. As far as the $50 charge, planning a rally does not come without expenses.
