Camco Stainless Gas grill

Hi folks,
Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with the Camco 5500 gas grill [able to be mounted to the RV exterior]. We are searching for a grill and could use your feedback-thanks.

I'd be leery of mounting something to the exterior and the heat it would generate. Make sure it won't damage the siding.

These units are designed with brackets mount the unit far enough away from the RV to prevent damage. My brother-in-law has had two SOBs with this option and had no problems with it. I highly recommend a quick connect be installed for ease of hookup.

Things to be concerned about: watch out for the awning above it; mounting too close to the RV door makes for great convenience but plan for smoke entering the rig depending on where it's located especially on windy days; make sure it does not block other doors; cooking surface will be small to minimize flaming dangers but so are many other "table top" BBQs.

We don't know anything about the Camco grill but after several different grills including throwing away the Thermos Grill To Go. (piece of junk) we settled on the Weber "Baby Q" Grill. They also have a larger Q grill but it is the best grill we have ever owned. I am sure there are others that we have not tried but give the Weber a look before you buy.

My wife also loves our Baby Q. Art has some very good points on placement of any permanent mount.

My Baby Q grill in the rv cooks better than the JenniAir grill I have at home and its 1/3 the costs of a JenniAir. I would buy another one if something happened to this one.
