rlwhit CG bear
I do not have to go to Alaska to see a bear. Looked out the dining room window this AM and a black back was in view. Thought it was the neighbors german shepard. No brown on the back. Better get a closer look. There it was right up aginst the house. When I called Toni that scard it. Ran about 20 feet and just slowly went back in the woods. About 30 min later figured bear gone. Was down by our garden sitting on the grass resetting a mole trap. Finished, got up a there it was about 25 feet away. I can only walk slowly, but that was the fasted slow walk I have had in a long time. After it was over it was really neat to have been that close. Hope it stays away.

It's great to hear that in addition to the inside-the-house-kitty's you also have outside pets! Now you just have to get some treats appropriate for their larger appetites.

Gosh, you guys are just starting to warm up in WA. It probably came out of hibernation and looking for a meal... amazing what an adrenalin rush can do to your system. Where was the camera? Glad it all turned out alright.

WOW! I can just see you doing that "fast" slow walk!!!!!!
25 feet is very very close - we were 75 feet to a mom grizzly and her two cubs - we were frozen in time (scared as H_____) till they moved away.

At least it wasn't a Big-Foot! That probably would have made you walk even faster. (lol)

Toni would need really big treats in her pockets for your new friend - NOT. Hopefully he'll go back to his forest home and not relocate to the RLW campground.

We have black bear within 15 miles from our stick house. Also mountain lions come around. Haven't seen any of those for awhile. Mountain lions were hanging around schools in Parker Colorado last year. Two different grammar schools. They had to keep everyone inside.
Wish you could have got a picture of your new friend.
