Montana dealerships?

I have done a search on this subject and I have come up empty. I would like to know of where the Michigan Montana dealers are. Actually anywhere in the Midwest. I went to Keystone's website and I could not find anything...maybe I looked in the wrong place or didn't see it. Any help?

Go to the following site, then click "dealer locater" in the bar just under the Montana logo.

http://keystone-montana.com/

Then you can search by state, zip, etc. for a dealer.

A friend of ours from Michigan went to Hart City in Elkhart Indiana and bought their 3250. I guess they got a better deal as they didn't have to pay tax. But, I think Indiana has changed their rules regarding state taxes now.

Do your homework if you are buying out of your home state. If the state you are buying in has no reciprocal agreement with your home state you could end up paying sales tax twice. I read an article recently that said Indiana was going to start collecting sales tax on out of state sales and it led me to believe that there was a possibility that these buyers would end up being taxed twice. This may have changed by now since a lot of Indiana rv sales are to out of state customers and I can't imagine them ruining that.

There are two, both named Burnside RV one is in Houghton Lake and the other one is in Gaylord. These are the BEST people we have ever done business with, as a matter of fact we just picked up our 3400 today from the one in Houghton Lake, it had a boo-boo and also some minor warranty work. We couldn't be more pleased with the service dept. (believe me we have delt with some BAD ones in other states) I think that there web page is Burnsiderv.com Good luck

We have spent alot of time with Gary at the Gaylord location. I just don't have any experience to compare with. I know where American is in GR, but I have never been in there.

We purchased ours at Lloyd Bridges Traveland in Chelsea, Mi. www.lloydbridgestraveland.com. Been very good with any problems we have had. I think some of the other dealers might be closer to where you live though.

Sounds like if you are going to buy a 3400RL Montana, you'll get about the same price and great service no matter where you go. Is that right?

Did anyone check on Indiana out of state sales tax questions posted earlier?

Hello Out There,

According to Keystone, the 3400RL has been their best selling Montana floorplan for the past 2 years. As such, are there any good deals to be had on these models. I have heard that 25% off MSRP is a good number to shoot for on most models. Has this been applying to the 3400 also??

rickfox, I did ask the dealer for a quote and it did still come in around 25% off list for a 3400RL. We had to pull a already sold 3400 out of the shop where it was being prepped so My wife could see it and he did mention that the next three he had on order were already sold. But still seems they can get them and the 25% is still applying apparently.

We also bought our 3255 from Burnside at the Gaylord dealership. They have been great with the few minor issues we have had. I would highly recommend them and will do any furture dealing there.

8.1al, if I understand the Indiana law correctly they will charge the amount of tax you would pay in your home state or the Indiana tax, whichever is less. Some states, like Kansas, credit you for the tax paid in another state, up to their own tax amount. You pay any additional tax if Kansas tax is higher. This way Indiana gets that money and the buyer theoretically pays the same, just in Indiana instead of Kansas. That's assuming Indiana doesn't pass it on to Kansas. I don't know if they do or not. And I don't know how other states handle it.

Steve,
So apparently there is not really an advantage to me traveling from Northern Michigan to Elkhart, IN to buy a 3400RL?

Dsprik, I think you need to check with Michigan about how they would handle this. Also, I don't think that Indiana law is in effect yet, is it? If not, then I think they'd not charge you sales tax in Indiana if you are an out of state resident(not positive about this either). Whether Michigan would charge you or not I don't know. Maybe not if purchased out of state. Sorry, I only know how it works in Kansas.

Thanks, Steve. I'll check... maybe even call the Elkhart dealership.
