Yes that does put a different spin on it doesn't it. Please give him our best and thank him. Our step-grandson is there also. The one thing about it is they are younger than we are!
Happy trails.....................

I believe Holt, FL, is near Pensacola.

Today's forecast for Hungry Horse, MT, was 80 for a high and 46 for the low. I think it was just about 80 today and dry. Nice. It seems really strange to me to have to use a light blanket at night and run an electric heater for an hour or two in the morning to avoid using propane in the furnace, then wear shorts and sandals outside all day! Love it!

To Firetruckerwife: We are familiar with the Oregon Coast also. Looking at the photo of the campground right on the beach, I don't recognize it ... where is it? We're heading to the coast of northern California for 2 weeks to get out of the Rio Vista heat, over 100 today. Hope to meet you in Lake Siskiyou next Mem. Day.!!!

I don't know if it's like an oven but it sure feels much better than hot and humid! Give me 80 and 20% humidity over 80 and 70% humidity any day!

I would also like to know where the spot is on the Oregon coast. I was unaware of any spot like that so close to the beach. Is it just a parking spot or are you allowed to camp?

We have found Oceanside RV Park on the Cape Arago Highway in Charleston to be our favorite within reasonable driving distance for us. It is a great beach, friendly park, and the sites are very close to the beach. You take 101 to about 9 miles north of Bandon and watch for the green highway sign for Charleston before you get to Coos Bay. You can also get to it from either Coos Bay or North Bend. We also love the state parks all along 101.

It has been 95-100 here in southern Oregon for the past couple of weeks and I wish we were at the coast where it is in the 60's.

Sorry,,, been driving home. The spot is Arizona Beach RV Resort, and is 11 miles south of Port Orford, or 6 miles south of Humbug Mountain. Right off 101. You go off the highway to the east and drive around and under 101 to get to the beach sites. Probably 40 of them right backed up to the beach. $30 a night, no sewer hookup, but yes to electric and water, and there is a honey wagon if you need dumping (@ $12 bucks) or you can drive up to Humbug mtn and dump for free. We miss it already.

Today - mid SIXTIES

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And I think high 40's tonite???

Oh and about that Dust Devil??? Had one pass over our truck, with the windows down last month - you might as well thrown a bucket of sand in it!!

I'm new to this site, just bought new Montana 3295RK. Getting the bugs worked out here in Mesa AZ. Bought from Rv Traders in Mesa. They are doing fine on all my repairs even came out today to my site and repaired my main slide roof; had a small leak.

I agree with Judy, Robert. More people would see your post there, too. But, of course, it's up to you. In any case, welcome aboard! Glad to hear your experience has been a good one.

Could someone send some of your heat wave up here to Alaska? We woke up to 39' and a solid wall of fog. Glad we're not going anywhere!

Judy, I wish I could send you 20 or 30 degrees of our heat,it is still in the triple digits here. We have been getting some thunderstorms that have a lot of lighting strikes that are starting fires here in Amargosa Valley. We have had just a little rain here but other places are getting a lot.

I am enjoying reading about your adventures in Alaska so keep them coming,The pictures are great.

Thanks for the compliment, Prairiepoodle. We had a good rain last night so hopefully some of the fires in the interior (around Eagle) were dampened by the rain. The smoke in the air is gone. The fog has miraculously disappeared and it is a bright sunny day. We took a brisk walk in the 43' weather. Perked us right up!

It was 93 in Hungry Horse, MT, today but humidity is 17% so we're barely feeling the heat.

We were South until 24th June so we got used to the heat. We had the local Pool company open our pool 2 days before we got home, thankfully. This has been one of the hottest Summers for many years, more days over 90 with a lot of humidity. Colin works in the mornings and evenings and we enjoy the afternoons in the Pool. When I think last year we may have gone swimming no more than 1/2 a dozen times the weather was so bad this year we have used it almost every day.
