Roof material
I am (still) in the process of buying a Montana. Unfortunately, due to mother nature, my trade-in is sitting under 14-16" of new snow and I am not able to uncover and unload it in order to tow it to the dealer and exchange it. Of course, it's only March, but I want to "beat the rush" and take delivery before it gets too crazy at the dealer.
While I'm waiting, I have a question: I heard somewhere the new roof material is a composite that is tougher than the rubber membrane that was used on my '04 Cougar. When I got up on the roof, it sure looked like rubber to me. The salesman was with another customer, so I didn't ask him. This is a 2010 model. Anyone know when this new material was introduced?

I always assumed mine was a rubber roof of some sort. Eterabond patches work well so it has to be related to rubber in some manner. That being said the rubber roofs used on commercial buildings is much improved since 2004 and I would assume RV roofing material has undergone the same improvements.

My 2010 3000RK has the same rubber roof as my 2001 Montana as near as I can tell.

The Montana Roofs are made of EPDM Rubber. Google it and go to Dicors Website and you'll learn everything you ever wanted to know about these roofs.
Same stuff rubber building roofs are made out of.

Ok, well my '04 Cougar has never leaked or given me any reason to question the roof. I don't have a problem with the rubber. I think I am a victim of information overload. Others call it 'analysis paralysis'.
