Tacomas were made in USA by Cooper Tire. They are not a bad tire.

The two Oct 2004 manufactured Tacoma Trail AWT 235/85 R16 Load Range E LT tires on my curbside had to be replaced last month. One developed a slow leak around the wheel rim due to rot and the other had sidewall rot. Both had slight dimples too.
Interestingly, the tire shop said the other side Tacoma tires were fine, despite an earlier July 04 manufacture date.
I bought my Montana used and at the time the curbside was facing North...Owner never used tire covers.
Estimated mileage on these tire per prior owner (tread was pristine) was less than 6000 miles.
Age kills apparently...

We had the Tacoma's on the '05 3500. Had is the key word. Last summer, all 4 developed bead leaks. Tire shop tried bead sealer on the worse offender with no luck. Finally had the shop break down the worse one and spin the tire 180 degrees on the wheel. The leak followed the tire. That tire would loose 10 psi in less than 2 weeks. The other 3 were slow leakers. I fought the leakers for a year, and the Montana now has 4 new Firestone Transforce HT in the LT235/85R16.
Left the Tacoma on the spare steel wheel, as it's never shown a leak.
The DOT date on all 5 Tacomas was 4904. They had less than 10000 miles on them, probably no much more than 6 or 7 thousand.
The Tacoma are made by Cooper for Parrish Tire Company. Cooper suggested contacting Parrish for warranty. I tried e-mail and leaving phone messages, but they never returned my calls or contacted me otherwise.

I have been reading about tires for my truck 235/85R 16 range E. Is there a place on the net you can see who makes what brand tire without going to each dealer to see? I have looked at Big O Big Foot A/T Dual Groove for (4)$667.96 out the door and Michelin AT2 at Cosco (4)$869.89 out the door. The only one I know that is USA is Michelin. Are there any other recommended tires (from the wise ones) I know little about tire brands always got the one on sale..

We've got the Tacoma tires on our trailer also and have never had to add air to any of them. I recently had them mounted on new wheels and while they were being mounted I asked the tire tech if he had ever heard of them. He said no but thought they looked and felt like decent tires. Time will tell.
