Hello wifi

Hello. We have recently purchased a Montana 3791rd. Love it. Anyway I’m trying to get familiar with everything. The one thing is the WiFi booster Keystone say that is included. We just spent a weekend with very low reception and was wondering if this would help the reception? I’m no wiz at this stuff. My daughters program my phone. Haha.
Anyway. I have a white box as soon as you come in the door. Is that the booster? I have also read on the side of the box it has a plug in for a router? We have Verizon unlimited so how do I get this working. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Hi Ike. We have the same model, 2019 3791RD. The white Furrion box you see when you come in the door is only the pre-wire for the device. If you slide the cover to the left you'll see there is nothing there. You have to purchase the device from Furrion along with a data plan. It is quite pricey. If you have wifi available where you camp and only need to boost the signal, there are boosters for that. Check https://www.technorv.com/rv-wifi-boosters/. If you are wanting to use your cellular Verizon for wifi, you can purchase a wifi router to work with Verizon. They are typically called a hotspot. I think you'll find the "unlimited" plan is actually not truly unlimited. I have unlimited through AT&T and they "may" throttle me after 22GB per month if needed for network congestion. I've never been throttled in several years though. For quick and dirty no cost solution, you can hotspot or thether your phone. Another possibility is https://www.mobilemusthave.com/?AffId=16. They offer devices and reseller options for unlimited data over Verizon and AT&T also.

Sorry for the stupid questions. So does the booster boost the single to other devices or does it boost the signal from the tower? Hope that makes sense.
Ike.

It receives the wifi signal then re-transmits and boosts it within the rv (or range of the booster) so other devices receive the amplified signal.
