Alpine Vs. Montana

Besides the Alpine being 102" wide and some different floor plans. What if any besides the name is the difference between the two? Is one better made than the other? Options?.

They seem to be pretty close, I thought the trim was a little nicer in the Montana.

Having just sold my 39 ft. Alpine in October I can weigh in on the quality. Both are rated luxury fifth wheels by Keystone. I haven't gotten my Montana yet so I can only talk about the Alpine. I had minor issues with cosmetics, such as molding coming lose and things like that. Nothing major happened during the 3 years I had it. Layouts and interior look on the Montana appeals to me more than the darker reddish wood look on the Alpine interior. I think you get more little things for your money with the Alpine, and generally it's a little less expensive than the Montana. Personal preference is the bottom line. Compare the features, such as tires and other standard items. The Alpine has a better G range tire. I haven't done any recent comparisons other than that.

Like topjusticewe have have both. We had a 2013 Alpine and moved to a 201 Montana. In the Alpine we had flimsy "plastic" sheets instead of the fiberglass surround in our Monty. I agree also that the interior is just nicer in our Monty. The dining room chairs in the Alpine were almost like overstuffed (no wood frames around edge) and we didn't like them at all. When you sat at the table you sat very low. We always had issues with the leveling on the Alpine also. Had is repaired twice and it still never worked quite right.

I know those are very small things, but my husband says the Alpine did not feel as "tight" as our Montana. We both much prefer our Montana!

Would you say its in a class between the Montana and the high country like the mountaineer? I did notice it doesn't have the arched roof like the Montana also. reason im asking i haven't been in one yet.

I'm not familiar with the mountaineer, but our Montana does feel roomier than the Alpine did. The high profile roof helps in that area.

I was in a 4 year old Alpine recently and liked the cherry wood and interior much better than the Montana. Our dealer only sold the Alpine at their store 60 miles away so I never saw one b4 we purchased. I think they come with the In-Command as standard.

Which g-range? The Montana has Sailun G-rated.

Keystone has the Alpine in the "luxury" category like the Montana. They are the only two in this category. The HC is one level down according the Keystone's website, and based on what you get I agree with that.

There was the same discussion about 18 months ago. Take a look at THIS.

The new Montana's at the recent Tampa show were far from Luxury in my honest opinion. Quite ;frankly the High Country looked more luxury like but still far below the 2017 and older Montana's.
Didn't see any Alpines to compare too.

Cougar actually looked more like a Luxury unit than the Montana.... they better fix this or they won't be selling many IMHO...

If trying to decide between the two, get the one with the floor plan you like best.

It’s been my experience that if a dealer sells Montana they do not sell Alpine, and vice versa. We were looking for a new 2018 5th wheel and liked the Alpine 3501 at a dealer in Longs SC. They did not sell Montana. However they had a dealership in VA that sold Montana. Montana had a very similar floor plan to the Alpine. The bathroom layout was better but we liked The Alpine living room better. Since we hopefully would be spending more time in the living room than the bath room, we bought the Alpine. Both were the same price. The Montana included slide toppers but the Alpine dealer put them on for no extra charge. Other than that I couldn’t see any difference. I have a feeling both models are built at the same factory and basically the difference is cosmetics. Oh the Alpine had a fiberglass rear cap that I liked better than the Montana.

They are built in same factory, at least in 2014 when we toured the plant.

We have some Alpine owners here in the park and I've talked to a few over the years and what they had to say never got me interested in an Alpine. In fact all but one said they would trade me for my Montana.

Holiday World of Willis, Tx now carries both. When we bought our 3791 two years ago they did not have the Alpine but their Katy location did. The Alpine comes with the high end add-ons that are optional on the Montana. Once you add the fancy rear cap, full body paint, In-Command and Generator pre-wire, it becomes an Alpine with the possible exception of the interior cabinet finish.

Drove by there last night and there were ten Montanas on the street side of the lot. Two Alpines.

My local Holiday world almost cannot keep the Montanas in stock. Ten in the row last night, three missing this afternoon.

Saw both at an RV show when we were not in the market for one. DW was not a fan of the Alpines. When we were getting serious about our 3701, we went to a dealer that had not only 3701s but Alpines.
Granted both of the Alpines we toured had substantial damage on the inside, DW felt they were more cheaply made.

I did ask the salesguy if they were trying to push folks away with having such damaged units for show or just highlighting how bad service would be after the sale, if they could not have an undamaged unit for display.
