TVs, antennas, cables, speakers, and more

The PO had both the bedroom and living room tvs hooked up to dish. He ran a cable splitter from the dish from the convenience center. One side came up through the basement and up into the bedroom next to the dresser. The other one went up to the TV in the living room.

I see that nothing is connected to either TV. Not having or wanting dish, I had to rehook up the TVs to the roof top antenna. I see the antenna outlet in the closet. As I recall, on the back of the outlet, there are 3 coax connections -- the center coax connection is from the antenna and the two outer ones go to the TVs? As a temporary fix, I took a coax and connected it directly from the TV to the coax in front of the outlet.

What is kind of strange is that both of the coax cables coming off of each outside connection on the back of the switch are going up into the ceiling. I would think that one of them would just go directly to the bedroom TV and then the other one go up into the ceiling to go to the living room TV.

In the living room there are also multiple coax connections. There is one black coax connection on the wall behind the TV but then there is also a white coax coming from who knows where.

So on our next outing, I need to figure out where all these extra cables are going.

In our old motorhome, they were interconnected so that if we watched a video (DVD nowadays), it played on both TVs. Or if watching off the antenna, we could view separate programs on each TV.

Does anyone know how the TVs worked as originally configured in an 08 3400RL as related to watching TV from the antenna and watchng DVDs?

Also, what is connected to those two speakers above the bed?

Time to do some exploring...

Thanks.

I may be able to help you some. The cable going to the ceiling is probably to the antenna on the roof. There should also be a tiny button near the cable connections ( in the old rigs it also had a 12v outlet) to turn on the antenna booster. The two speakers in the bedroom are probably connected to the stereo in the living room.
