wood trim

I am having the same problem as noted in the thread below:

http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ight=wood+trim

The wood trim around the entry door interior on the strike side has bowed away from the wall. It looks as if the trim is glued to begin with. I am reluctant to use a brad or pin nailer as first I am not sure what there is in the wall for backing. Secondly the while I don't believe there is any wiring not sure of the path the awning lights or the DS light are run. Can't imagine that they would be in the RO.

Unfortunately I didn't see an answer in the thread beyond replacing the trim. Before I go that route I would like to know if anyone has successfully used glue or carpet tape (double sided tape) to fix this issue.

You might want to try Liquid Nails. I have used it in the past for projects on the S&B with very good success. It has a fairly strong odor when first applied but it holds really well. It dries a little slow so you will likely have to either clamp it or lean something against it hard.

I had the same things happen in my 2055RL solved the problem by putting 4 sheet metal screws in each side. Don’t look to good but they never came off.

Mine has done that too. I think the trim is torching the floor. If so, cut an 1/8" off the bottom to allow for expansion which I think is happening.

I really hate to go the screw route but I am sure it would be the end of the problem. I noticed the trim while measuring for MORryde StepAbove fit. I will have to go back and take a closer look to see if the trim is too long. I think the bow was in the middle of the trim so I am not confident it is too long. I think it is strictly and adhesive issue due to the moisture and cold.

If you use screws might be wise to pre drill thru the trim as it is thin and can easily split! Use really small diameter screws and I would hand tighten with trim....Good news is you can get all sorts of colors so you can get close to matching the trim. Black works well with darker colors if you can't find an exact match. Best combination might be glue AND screws.

I agree, mine is doing the same thing. Appears to be expanding with no room. A slight trim will fix it.
