Punxsutawney Phil needs an whooping!
As many here know, we purchased a new 3625 at the rally last fall. We didn't pick it up until the first of November, so it's still sitting in the driveway, waiting for the early spring Phil promised us. I wonder how ground hog stew tastes?

Tom,
You should not just single out Phil from PA and assign him all of the blame. French Creek Freddie (the WV forecasting cousin of Phil) was just as wrong on his prediction. With both skinned, cleaned and chopped into stew size bites, you will have enough stew to share if you don't like it! I have already said the heck with the weather, I will be camping Thursday night! Spring has arrived (I am hoping that if I post and repeat this enough, it will fend off the temperatures in the 20's!)

Well I always say now being a fulltimer that I will be where it is warm. Guess what?? This morning here in Gulf Shores AL right next to the Gulf its 36*. So much for the warm weather. Problem is I would have to go to the Keys to find any warmth at all and its only 64*. But.......this weekend it will climb to the high 70's. Bring on the spring!!

Saw where the local district attorney was wanting to indict Phil for making false promises!

I still remember back to one of the first years Phil was put on national TV. They pulled him out and he was dead! Pretty embarrassing. You can bet someone's checking in the middle of the night now and a replacement Phil is in the wings somewhere.

Am I the only one who is not surprised that a large furry rodent can't predict the weather? To be fair to Phil though, he does not get paid what most weather people are paid and his record is far better.

Not so fast...he got it right for Washington. It's been above average out here.

How smart are we? We rely on a Marmot (west coast name) for the weather all over the country. We could have successfully sued hundreds of weather persons for the same thing.
Even here in California, it was wicked cold, then got warm, then got wicked cold again and now it's back to warm and the rain we need so bad, promised by the weather persons was even more unpredictable or non-existent. We have been luckier predicting earthquakes which is getting to about 2 minutes notice and not enough time to do anything about it. I am not looking forward to the summer when it's supposed to be hotter than last year which was already too hot.
I'm sticking to my Grandpa's tried and true method of sticking your head out the window (If it comes back wet, cold, snowed on, you get the idea) and leave the rodents alone. LOL

I forgot about the shooting and maybe eating part. You can't and wouldn't want to do that to a weather human. LOL.
