Antennae TV reception
We have a new digital TV in the living room- We have an older digital TV with a converter box in the bedroom- In remote areas, the bedroom TV has better reception than the living room TV- In urban areas both TVs have normal reception- What can I do to fix this problem to my wife's satisfaction? HELP PLEASE- Thanx in advance for all responses!!! Don

Since it's the same antenna, that gets it down to either the amplifier, the cabling, or the new tv. I'd start with plugging the new tv into the same connector as the old tv, even if I had to get a short piece of RG-6 or RG-11 to run from the bedroom to the living room. To me, side by side comparisons are the best way to approach your problem.

The crimp connections on the wiring can be causing problems. According to my satelite guy, the connections need to be the press on type.

There's most likely a splitter in the circuit to supply the basement antenna hookup. In my case it was behind the bedroom tv, in the feed to the living room tv. I took it out and things improved considerably. If you use the basement connection, try moving the splitter into the bedroom feed.
On Edit - If there is one, make sure it's "digital ready".

I have about the same set up as you do. There is one park I go to where I have trouble getting a signal and I learned through experience to set the TV in the bedroom by using the converter box. I try and watch the signal the box will show and set it to where I get the strongest signal possible. Once I did that, I was getting about 8 channels. Before I could only get 1 or two. It seems with digital you either get a signal or you don’t so watch your signal strength and set it for the best and see if that will help.

We had poor reception in the bedroom Tv and replacing the OEM cabling corrected the problem.
