Weight of new Montana and HC

Someone posted about getting a 281 HC. I was curious, so looked it up. It weighs 14,300 loaded. It is 32'2" long. I have a 2013 Mountaineer 362. It is 37'7" long and weighs in at 14,000 or so.
So mine is almost 5 1/2 feet longer and weighs 300 lb less. Any ideas as to why?????

It might just be the engineering in the new model allows for added load capacity between construction and cargo capacity, even though its shorter. It also looks like they come with F rated tires now along with heavier axle tubes and probably other heavier items.

Oh, I am just curious by nature.

I think you are quoting GVWR, or loaded weights. What are the empty weights of each?
If the new 281HC is quite a bit lighter empty, then the explanation is likely that they have built it heavier to carry more weight.

Now, if your 2013 is also lighter empty? Well then I guess the new ones may be built heavier. I'd start with comparing the frame.

I'm curious now; see if you can dig those numbers up and report back!
