Low Profile front A/C unit

I'm interested in hearing any recommendations and/or experiences with low profile A/C units (Coleman Mach 8, Dometic Penguin ll etc.)

I want to replace the huge front 13.5k unit and right now pplmotorhomes has a good deal on the Coleman at $878.99. Unfortunately, it would also involve $100 freight shipping. Still a great deal...

EDIT: Just found a better deal at Dyers RV for $839.89 AND FREE SHIPPING!! So $900 total with tax!

Especially interested in anyone who has swapped out their "standard" size unit for one of the low profile units.
Since I already have a ducted unit, I'm not sure if I still need to buy any kind of "ceiling unit" which they show on the website as an option?

Sure would be nice to have a new, more efficient unit and gain 4-6 inches of clearance!
