B&W 5er hitch

Unable to decide do I get the companion 20K or the 25K it’s only $160 difference I know it’s a over kill but leaning towards the 25K just Incase pro’s Con’s

I went with the 25K for my DRW truck which has plenty of capacity just in case when we retire we might upgrade to a Mobile Suites which more than likely would require the bigger hitch depending on the chosen model. Good luck.
Happy roads to you.

Either one of these will be just fine for you. It really doesn’t matter. If you might someday get a heavy weight camper go for the 25000 pounder. There was is no down side except it will be a little heavier. If you aren’t going to get a larger camper get the lighter hitch.

I have the 25K hitch for my 3120RL. I always go for more than required. I feel this is worth the extra money for peace of mind.

FWIW, it really depends on what trailers you intend to pull and the tow vehicle. Without that info, it's hard to make a recommendation. If you have a dually, I'd get the 25k hitch, no identifiable issues and you can't go wrong with more hitch than you need on a dually, in 99% of RV applications. SRW trucks with limited payload... the weight calculation comes into play much more than with DRW trucks. Each has its place. How you use your RV and how you load it also play into the decision process.

We have the 25,000 pound B&W. It has been trouble free. I asked the same question when I was in the market for a hitch. Glad I picked the 25k hitch now as I am in the market for a new trailer that is heavier. hope this helps.

$160 and 9lbs, probably isn't going to have any serious cons to getting the bigger one

I don't know if you've been around these hitches or not. I have one of them and I really like that the box is clear when it isn't in the pickup. But... it is crazy heavy and getting it out of the pin box in the pickup is a pain.

If it was in any way possible to go the gooseneck route and have it approved by the frame manufacturer I'd be all about it. Then you never have to remove a hitch from the back of the pickup, whenever you unhook the trailer you get an empty box.

I don't know if that is a possibility or not for you, but something to consider.
