Keystone advice

I damaged the back wall of my 2019 3730fl in September. A new wall has to be built at the Keystone plant. The RV repair shop I am dealing with is giving me completely different information on a timeline than Keystone is giving me. It's as if the dealer is talking to a different manufacturer than I am talking to. For example, Keystone told me the rear wall will be finished and shipped by ______ and arrive within a week. The RV repair shop is saying they talked to Keystone and they gave them a completely different finish and ship date and that it would take 2 weeks to arrive. I live in California. If any of you have had a major repair like this, I would appreciate any advice on who to talk to at Keystone or any advice on how to proceed. The not knowing or having any concrete answers is driving me crazy.

Are you talking with manufacturing or customer service. It's possible that the repair dealer has an inside track to the boots on the ground folks who will actually get it done and shipped. It's also possible that their experience causes them to add some days to the estimate so that they under promise and over deliver. Just guessing but have been involved in manufacturing so am speaking from some experience.

question. why are you dealing with keystone anyway?

The rv shop is doing what it is trying to do and you should just have to wait.

If you trust the dealer I'd let them take care of it and set the timelines

I inquired at Keystone because I felt like I was getting the run around by the repair shop and I was to an extent.

If I did that it would take forever to complete. They now know that I am verifying everything with Keystone and comparing notes on when parts were ordered, built, shipped etc. when I wasn’t receiving timely responses from the repair shop or completely accurate information, is when I contacted Keystone.

I did major damage to my rear cap in 2017 including tearing the fiberglass completely in half on one side at the rear window. I was expecting they would have to replace the rear cap and had heard about nightmares of long term waits for a new cap. Fortunately I was able to find a local independent RV repair facility that was also excellent at fiberglass repair. They go it in and out in 3 weeks and that included being in the middle of a July 4th holiday. They handled everything including picking up my trailer, working estimate, contacting my insurance, getting approval, and starting and completing the work. The link below includes pictures of the before and after. Approximately $14,000. The before picture shows only a small part of the total fiberglass damage. Also tears around the window opening in other areas.
