Ocean Lakes is like a small city. There's a lot to do in the park. In North Myrtle Beach they have dinner shows. There are plenty of places to eat, we like like the mom and pop restaurants. Broadway at the Beach is a good place to walk around and shop. We are hosting at the State Park just north of you. We enjoy the state parks. Also about 17 miles south there is Brookgreen Gardens. It's:nice. Brookgreen is about 45 miles south. It's has a historic waterfront.
Have fun.

We recently returned from our timeshare in Myrtle Beach. We have been going there since the early 2000s both camping and in the condo. Broadway at the Beach is a great way to spend several days and nights. So is Barefoot Landing. Look for alligators. Check them out. There are so many places to eat I could not begin to list them. We enjoy eating at the buffet at Giant Crab in North Myrtle Beach. Be sure to pick up the coupon books. Tons of savings.

The beach at the campground is great. Rent a golf cart to get around. Visit the Hammock Shop at Pawley's Island and say hello to Marvin the hammock maker. Very interesting character. The traffic can be a problem. Travel early in the day. There are many great shows.

My first post! Ocean Lakes is great! A few local places to eat that I recommend. Valentino's Original Italian Restaurant just down from the campground. Prosser's BBQ in Murrells Inlet. We tend to avoid the seafood buffet places. We've been going to Ocean Lakes for years. Traffic on Hwy 501 will be bad this time of year, the earlier the better.
