Have not tried that yet. Most rest-stops require parking in open lot away from curbs. (actually all I have been at with the solid steps) Given that curbs are 6-8 inches in height, should be able to retract feet all the way and set stairs on curb. Worst that would happen is you cannot close door. Will experiment once we get out camper back

My 2019 High Country 3121 RL has the fold in steps and I hate them ! Can’t open the door if not level! Won’t work on a raised pad or deck at a campground and now a bolt came loose and is now bent so here we go, more repairs !!

What ever happened to having options on upscale trailers? Obviously many like their drawbridge steps and many like their folding steps. Why should a buyer have to buy an expensive trailer and then immediately have to retrofit to get what you really want? Same is true of disc brakes and independent suspension.

When we were dealing on our 2018 3120, the solid steps would have been a deal breaker. We got folding steps exchanged as part of the deal. Parked in our yard at home, the solid steps would not have been able to open. The folding aluminum steps, while flimsy, at least make our unit accessible for loading in the driveway

Lippert Steps
I am in the process of getting ready to order from E-trailer the Lippert Solid Stairs for my 2013 Montana Model 3582RL. Has anyone else installed them on this model. If so, any suggestions or items to be aware of on my particular model. I have done considerable research but sometimes everything you need to be aware of on your model is not covered. Thanks

When I installed the LCI Solid Steps, the hard part was removing the old steps-- tight clearances

I reinforced the latch points on the flimsy aluminum door frame with a couple 6" long piece of steel pop riveted on plus added a piece of rubber stripping to reduce slop clearance and potential rattles. That frame will bend easily, I found I also used some heavier screws from Home Depot (2 diameter sizes)

Two bolts in the back were a bear when I added the MORryde tool box but getting the steps out of the box was almost as hard
Other then that, 1/2 hour job with a 15 minute break in the middle of your time

So I wouldn’t go back but I did find a case this trip which took some thinking.
We backed in the unit, leveled and were set but were next to a wood deck. I ended up an inch short of space to swing out the stairs. I jacked the trailer up higher and got by the issue. I had almost decided to move the unit over.
