Backup camera systems

I have a 2010 Montana 5th wheel (40 footer) with an older Zone Defense camera and monitor. The antenna has bitten the dust and is no longer available for replacement. I do have an antenna that attaches directly to the monitor but reception is pretty bad. with my tow vehicle it's almost 60' and I had the antenna mounted on the back of the C pillar right above the bed of the trailer. I guess my only option is to replace cameras and monitor for a new one. Does anyone know if I can use the existing wiring (except for the monitor power cable) with the new system? Because of the location of the camera I cannot use a wireless system since the antenna cannot be be raised vertically. Any suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks!

pending a couple eletronic things. no real reason to need a factory antenna.

you need to talk to a qualified ham radio operator. ( i am a ham, but not good in antenna theory).
you can build something better than factory.
or drop the coin on a new fancy set of units.

We have been using the 5'6'' Color system 56 chnv from RV cams on both our Montana's since 2006 without a problem. The monitor is mounted on the dashboard with the monitor and antenna on the dashboard with a clear view out the window.the first Montana was a 06 3400 and this one is a 13 3402 which is pretty much the same RV pulling both with a F-350,Long bed,Crew cab. We are truck and camper over 58 feet long but the rear most axle is several a several foot shorter distance.

We Do not drop out.The antenna is mounted on the monitor and is replaceable. IF you decide to purchase a new system give rvcams.com a look.
