Memorial Day Weekend ... man the pumps!

Saturday evening here in Kansas ... it's been raining solid since last night. We've had days of on and off rain the entire week prior. We needed the rain, but not of Biblical proportion. I sure wanted to be sitting at the lake watching the days pass by since my company doesn't have a recognized holiday between New Years and Memorial Day. Not this year. I do want to thank the Vets for their service and acknowledge the ones that didn't make it back ... guess that thought makes rain pretty inconsequential.

Same here in north TX. Most lakes are so high that all boat ramps are submerged. And on some lakes even the boats in marinas are prohibited from going on the water for fear the wakes will aggravate the flooding already occurring. And to make matters worse, anywhere from 3" to 5"+ are expected between now and Monday evening. This has been going on for 2 months now. Really getting old.

But on the positive side, we are no longer in extreme drought conditions.

No different further north in Kansas. COE closed half the camping spots due to flooding. Some coves closed in total. Not a good thing for business. Still need to remember the reason for the day and thank those who serve or served.
