Sloooow Leaking Airbags

As the title says, my 1 year old airbags have a very slow leak. I had the installer check them today--no luck. Basically, I can air them to what I need--about 30 PSI and drive all day--no problem. Even repeat the next day but in about 3 or 4 days, they have slowly gone down. I am thinking of just replacing the air lines--I have a manual air system (no on board air compressor in the truck). Anyone else done that or where to get the air lines built? Suggestions are welcome. I could get the installer to do it also. The airbags themselves appear to be OK.

Do they leak in warm weather as well as cold weather? The plastic air line will shrink in colder weather and can leak a bit at the fittings. The push on fittings are prone to this.
Just asking.

Have you tried spraying a soapy solution on all fittings and air valves and watching for bubbles? Even very slow leaks will blow bubbles if you watch close enough.

the fitting where the plastic line attaches to the air bag was the culprit on my air bags. I replaced the one on the drivers side. About a month later replace the one on the passengers side.

Great ideas--yes on the soapy solution--not much help. I am doing a time test--measure the PSI and time, wait 12 or more hours, measure again. The shop may have tightened the few connections and the issue is resolved. But the info will help me decide.

As for cold weather--well--tonight in San Antonio, Texas, the low will be 65--yes 65. So, I don't know about the cold weather response of the leaks.

Check for leaks at the Schrader valve(s).

Also, I cap mine off with metal caps that have a sealing washer, instead of plastic caps.

Overlord, Good tip. I will do that--I did check the Schrader valve for tightness--seemed OK.

After 2 full days of checking the airbags, one of the bags had a slow leak. It was replaced under warranty--no cost. Ready for the road.

Glad you got it figured out and fixed. In the 60's, leaking air bags (and shocks for that matter) were very common, but now days, well, let's just say this is the first one I've heard about in a long, long time.
