Timbrens?
I had airbags on my 07 Chevy. Just purchased a new Chevy and was wondering how the timbrens compare.

I have had both Timbrens and air bags on my F250.
The Timbrens did fine but the ride was noticeably rougher when I had enough load on the truck to make the frame contact them. The worst case for me was pulling a 16 foot utility trailer and loading it only heavy enough to barely make it touch the Timbrens, that's when they rode the worst for me. Also with the Timbrens the rear still drops some, although not near as much, so the truck doesn't sit perfectly level and it makes the headlights aim a little higher. When the truck is empty the frame doesn't touch the Timbrens and there is no difference in the ride quality.
Air bags cost more and won't last as long but they sure are nicer. For me the ride is better when loaded and I can always adjust them to make the truck level. I purchased the kit with the on-board air compressor and wireless remote control, I've been very happy with the setup. I would also recommend getting air bags with internal jounce bumpers to protect them against damage if they ever bottomed out, due to an air leak or not enough air pressure for the load on the truck.

I had Timbrens on my previous 2007 Rm 2500 and they were OK but I like the Air Lift bags with on-board air supply MUCH better.

Have had Timbrens since the 09 Ram was new. Love the ease of installation and the ease on the pocketbook. Resolved the squat problem. If installed correctly they won't affect the headlight aim.

Timbrens I have now but I get some squat in the backend of the truck with the 5th wheel hooked up which to me takes away a little bit of stability in the steer. at least to me it does. the timbrens are ok for everthing else I haul or tow but I want the wife to start pull the camper so any improvement I can make will be a big plus. $400 is pricey but I will put them on myself here in a couple of weeks. got them from etrail.com with free shipping which can range from 50-70 dollars and higher. so saved on that.

I put Firestone airbags on my 2011 F-250 SD. Allows me to level the rig when I have the Monty hooked on. I am very impressed with the airbags. Took me about 4 hrs. to install in my driveway. I think the flexibility is better then the rubber baby buggy bumpers . (I think they were the original Ford OL bumpers, which I took off) I also cut off part of the steel bump bars for the original bumpers so I could get the airbag brackets closer to the axle. Worked well!
Good luck on your choice.

The airlift bags have been on our 08 F-350 since 2008 with not a problem.
