Another "never used the stuff" here. Since we full time, the F350 is the only vehicle that we have. Perhaps the constant use is why we've never had an issue with fuel. We make it a point to avoid fuel stops where there appears to be very little activity at the diesel pump. We have 92,000 miles on the truck and have done nothing to the engine except the specified regular maintenance. On a recent 180 mile trip with the truck only, the trip meter said we got 20.0 mpg. Yesterday, pulling the Big Sky from near Harrisburg, PA to near Canton, OH we got 11.5 mpg.

Never use the stuff. 97000 miles on the 2008 with no problems and 8000 miles on the 2015. If ford wanted us to use additives it would say so in the O & M manual.

I have owned 3 Dodge trucks w/Cummins engines and have never used any type of fuel additive. Put over 100,000 miles on 2 of them and not one fuel related problem. I always changed the fuel filter every time I changed the oil. We lived in Arizona, Oregon, Wisconsin and Tennessee so they have been kept in all types of climates, conditions and altitudes. Talked to several diesel techs about using them and they each thought they were mostly snake oil (their words not mine!! )

I understood that cummins always indicated that additives were not to be used on their engines. As for me, I run my 2008 RAM without any type of additives.

In a previous life we owned a Cummins ISL 8.9L in a motor home. The Cummins manual said do not use additives. Their web site advertised an additive they make. They speak from both sides of thier mouths.

I believe using Lucas products is more common in California. I add it with each fill-up in my current 6.7 and did same 7.3. Helps with bad fuel and even Ford Dealer ask what I used. It's been able to give me some peace of mind !

The additives have little to do with helping in bad fuel issues. They do increase the cetene rating and to deal with the lubricity that was decreased when going to the new diesel fuel.

Diesel Clean here, we just like to feel we are helping with any lubricity issues that might cause future problems.

We own our own diesel shop we are a certified dealer, so we sell and use The additive of the people who make the injection pump, if you are still under warranty and have trouble with low lubricity in your fuel, which we should all have due to gov mandates, they will only warranty the pump if you are using there additive, it is made by Stanadyne but are in the process of changing the name . If you are going to the rally look up Del Dimmick he has been in the business since 1981 and worked at a shop befote he opened up his own

Exactly what my dealer in NC and in FL told me.

Diesel Fuel Additives
In 2009 Manual:
Diesel fuel conditioner
Additives that will improve fuel cetane numbers may be used to verify/enhance fuel quality. Use Motorcraft Cetane Booster & Performance Improver, PM-22-A (U.S.) / PM-22-B (Canada) or equivalent. The customer warranty may be void from using additives that do not meet or exceed Ford specifications.
Do not use alcohol based additives to correct fuel gelling. This may result in damage to the fuel injectors/system. Use Motorcraft Anti-Gel & Performance Improver, PM-23-A (U.S.) / PM-23-B (Canada) or equivalent. The customer warranty may be void from using additives that do not meet or exceed Ford specifications.

In 2014 Manual:
Note: This ultra-low sulfur formulation is designed to meet the emissions standards for the 6.4L engine and is backward compatible as well (i.e., can be used in Ford 6.9L, 7.3L, and 6.0L diesel engines).
It should not be necessary to add any aftermarket additives to your fuel if you use a high quality diesel fuel that conforms to ASTM industry specifications. Aftermarket additives can damage the fuel injector system or engine.
Use Motorcraft® cetane booster or an equivalent cetane booster additive if you suspect fuel has low cetane. Use Motorcraft® anti-gel & performance improver or an equivalent additive if there is fuel gelling.

Additives with alcohol will emulsify water and fuel which will damage HPFP and injectors
There is a "Diesel Kleen' formula that clearly states 'no alcohols of any kind'

The statement 'no harmful alcohols' means there is alcohol- do not use
