Keystone is aware of problems folks have been having, but $$$ drive choice. Unfortunately, Keystone would make a legal argument that the tire manufacturer specs reflect adequate capacity and that owner neglect re speed, proper air pressure, overloading fiver, road hazards is not their problem. That they offer the option of a better tire is an interesting reflection of their OEM selection.

John, they are putting on the same tires that other competitors do. And, they make the G614's available. It is amazing how many people read about the issues, and still order units without the upgrade. That tells me people are willing to compromise their safety for a relatively small price. We have been fortunate, but we have been running G614's with TPMS for the past 5 years now.

I agree. Each owner must decide their own comfort and desired level of safety. Some owners are not concerned about tires until a negative event occurs. I have a neighbor with a RV that never even checks his tire pressures.

John, The tires that Keystone uses are within the requirements of the Gross weight of the trailer. There is nothing illegal with them using them.
However, there is a difference in illegal and immoral. We all know the bean counters are in charge and putting a $100 tire vs: a $300 tire saves them $1,000 per trailer.
Folks will walk away over $1,000 and buy a different brand.
I bought mine with Marathon's. Got it home from Indiana, ordered my Duravis R250, sold the Marathon's on Craig's list to a farmer and my net was about $600 for "upgraded" tires.

A former president of the Montana line explained it to me that very way. The tires meet the specs so problems are on the tire manufacturer. Since RV dealers sell several different brands price will make the difference for many consumers and so Keystone must keep their price competitive and use the tires the other brands use.
It was a win for the MOC when we convinced them to offer 614's as an option. Unfortunately, most consumers are not aware of the difference in regulation between tires meant for vehicles that carry passengers and trailer tires. Passenger tires are required to have a reserve capacity and trailer tires aren't. Thus many owners of trailers aren't aware that the weight shown on the side of the tires isn't a "safe" weight it's a max weight.

Our 06 3400 came with Missions.no problems but changed then out after 10K miles. Then had Cooper then Generals on the 06 no problems with them. Now have the G614s on the 3402.Did about 70K miles on the 06 3400.

John, in answer to your specific question, I have not seen any forum message encouraging any class action. I may not be correct but feel the MOC is not the venue for such consideration or discussion. JMHO. We as members have all experienced some tire issues and some have stories better than the next person, however, it has resulted in most owners upgrading either at purchase or later. The MOC has had miles of words on tire issues and buyer beware remains. Good Luck on your decision.

Even if Keystone were negligent you would have a hard time getting an attorney to file suit, not a big enough class
