No personal experience, but from what I've seen and heard, B&W makes a great product. Lots of happy owners over on rv.net.

We have a B&W hitch, not sure what the model number is. It's simple to switch between the 5th wheel hitch and the goose neck. There are no bolts or brackets in the bed of the truck, so that when you remove the hitch you have full use of the bed for hauling such things as sheets of plywood or wall board. It comes out in two pieces to reduce the weight, although you better have some strength or some help to lift the bottom piece. Would we buy another B&W? The answer is yes.

Mark,
I just bought a B&W RVK3300 for Marilyn's new ride. I got it in yesterday. It looks like the only difference between the hitches is the rail system, mine is for the Ford OEM hitch system.
Assembly was a piece of cake, just 8 bolts for the pivot arms. The hitch head has 2 handles that open when lifted and slip onto the pivot arms.
Goes in the truck this am. Looks like a well built hitch.
I sent you a PM
Ken

I have the B&W Companion hitch and love it. As stated above there are no rails in the bed when the 2 pieces of the hitch are removed.

I have the B & W 3000 Companion hitch. The Companion hitch is $879 and the Patroit is $389. The Patroit mounts on bed rails and is rated @ 16K while the Companion is rated @ either 18K or 20K.
You need to look at the 2 hitches side by side and decide what you can accept. If the flat floor is important then the Companion is a must. If you can live with bed rails then the Patroit may work for you.
The heads are different in their size and jaw size also. The Patroit probably is a nice hitch for a light 5th, but for what a Montana will weigh, I do not want my hitch to be at it's rated limit.
There is quite a difference in the total price between the 2.
Jim

Good news and bad news when we got our hitch. The hitch was free of charge (or no extra $$$ since we obviously paid too much for the rig). The bad news is that was my first experience with a fifth wheel hitch and not knowing any better, now I have bed rails to mess with. Besides B&W which is very nice, there was another hitch I liked that left a flat bed, but I'm not drilling any more holes in my truck bed and just deal with the rails.
Since you're asking, it seems that you are considering this hitch type and it's well worth whatever you pay. I've heard nothing but good things about B&W hitches. I created a flat bed for my truck by building a 3/4" plywood platform that sits above the rails the whole length of the bed and after removing the hitch head and base, but putting it in and out adds to the chore. I lose about an inch or two in depth, but at least the bed is flat. The platform is in four sections to make it easier to deploy. One good rain will probably ruin it. A B&W would have prevented all this work and worry.

Thank You for the comments. The rails are not the problem, the head on my current hitch has seen better days. As for size being a 16K, I have a 3000RK which is lighter than most of your trailers, I think it is one of there lightest ones Montana makes, which was good for me in that I did not want a new truck at the time.
Just looking for comment on the unit and it sounds like no body has had problems with them.
Thanks Again

This past year I sold my 16k Reese that I was never happy with and purchased a B & W Patriot and have been very happy with it. It fit right in to the existing rails on my truck. Hitch is almost silent without all the popping and creaking noises the Reese had. You will not be disappointed. Got mine from Tweetys.com with free shipping. It was actually here the next day (Atlanta to Chattanooga).
