Finally back in Wisconsin

We did 277 miles today, from Camp Keystone to Edgerton Wisconsin. We will be home tomorrow. WOW, what a trip. April 1 left Vegas in the company of H John Kohl, did Kanab Ut, Zion, Death Valley, Coarse Gold Calif, Yosemite, MOC rally in Jackson, Then visited Navy buddy in Elk Creek Ca. Caught up with John Kohl in Klamath Ca. Traveled with him up to Oregon. Then up to Washington to visit with Sheepdog, and on to Post Falls Idaho to visit another Navy buddy. Down to Custer Battlefield and Devils Tower. Next to Spearfish SD and Rapid City. We did Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Sturgis. Then Mount Rushmore and Lots of rain (5.5inches) Discovered leak in front closet. Went to Rondo's house, did repairs to roof. Down to KC next where we got stuck for a week with even worse damage to roof. National Interstate insurance threw us under the bus but Keystone stepped up and repaired the roof and replaced the whole closet at the service center. They also asked for motel bills from KC and are going to cut us a check for that expense. This year we have seen more in 3 months than we did in 4 yrs wintering on the east coast. Looking forward to doing it again next season, only 3 months away. This year was our turn in the broke stuff locker but we are hopefully past that and we can get back to enjoying fulltiming. Thank you to all who helped us get through the loast few weeks. The MOC is tops and so is Keystone for customer support.. I only have 45 minutes on this lame pay wifi so will jump off now. We will finally be home tomorrow with DSL YAY!!!

What a trip eh? All in all it was quite an adventure and Keystone outdid themselves and helped to give it a positive outcome

Glad you made it home Dave and everything is fixed. On your next trip if you head down through Nashville, TN stop by and say hi. We left Green Bay, WI last fall for the last time and moved here.

Glad you made it safely home and glad the rig is in good working order. This does continue to speak well of Keystone.

Hey Dave, I have been seeing some of your posts here and knew you had a serious roof issue. What prompted Keystone to step up and fix this for you?

I believe it had a bit to do with Forum pressure, they DO read the posts here.

I was hoping that Keystone had a reality check and since it was their process that eventually caused this problem, this is why they stepped up (they built the rig, it fell apart, they fixed it and not very well, so guess what, it fell apart again - it's not rocket science what's going on here, folks). But I'm sure if you'd never posted here, you'd still be stuck out there trying to get insurance or some other service you'd paid to remedy this for you even though it sure looks like Keystone's responsibility. In the long run, the knowledge and support in the Forum probably "helped" Keystone to finally do the right thing. On the other hand maybe it was a fiscal decision and they didn't want to spend the money on the repair that month to delay it to another month.

Now if they could learn that they should do the right thing from the onset, this story wouldn't get here for others to use as a precaution towards Keystone products. Some companies like to learn the hard way and they can't always point the finger at the owner.

Good deal, Dave. I thought all along they should step up and take care of this. Really restores my faith in Keystone. So, in a year or so when we get ready to shop and trade in this good old Challenger, may have to look at several Thor products and brands. Montana comes to mind. Also, Alpine, Redwood, Blackwood........

I wish I knew you were going to be in Edgerton. I would have come over for a visit as you are only about 15 miles from our S&B at Jefferson.

We stop in Edgerton now because Pearl Lake got too expensive for what they offer and too restrictive. Absolutely no guests or visitors, they lock the gate after 10 and have no wifi and you heve to drive a half mile to do laundry which is expensive. All this for a measly 50.00 but that was 2 yrs ago, it is probably 60 by now. Hidden Valley is a great CG and has a nice pool and hot tub and all kinds of activities for 44.00. And they are very friendly. We will be back in Aug for two reunions.
