We received an estimate from the body shop yesterday for $3300. The have faxed it to Progressive so now we wait for the approval and to schedule an appointment.

Hope everything goes well with the repairs. Looking forward to meeting you at the fall Rally! We had to search for a company that would give us replacement coverage. Since we full time we need to have our house replaced. Progressive wouldn't because our rig was over a year old even though we bought it brand new, but we use them for both vehicles.

Do I understand right that the lug nuts on the wheels were the wrong size and the Monte came from the factory that way?

10-4 Frank. I saved them for our friends from Keystone when I see them at the rally. Maybe I'll use it for my white elephant gift. LOL

Wow, that sounds like something you'd see on television. Glad no one was hurt. Wonder what Keystone will do when you show them (I assume you will) the lug nuts at the rally. Good luck with the repairs.

As the unit is 4+ years old, I doubt that anything will be accomplished other than my own personal satisfaction of presenting them with 32 wrong lugs. Monte goes in Tuesday for repairs.

Dick, we had a similar incident with the '08 2980 we had. October 2010 in Niceville, Fl, we stopped at a red light & the pick up behind us used the rear-end of Monte as her brakes! We were still able to drive it & continued on to our destination for the adjuster to come see it & prepare for repair. When he did get there a couple days later (weekend involved), he determined that it was in needs of cap repair & the metal on both sides of behind the wheels would be repaired. No frame issues or truck/hitch problems. Ong story short, took end cap off, repaired, no damage to inside of walls or the floor! Fiberglass repair was "out-standing"! No one can believe it. At last years Fall Rally, people could not tell it had been damaged!

It did take 3 weeks to complete! Had to wait on some parts to be shipped (ie ladder). We were very pleased. If we make it to the Fall Rally, we are planning to but, some health issues may prevent us. I have pictures we can compare "accidents"!!!

The guy I'm using does body work on RVs and big trucks. It's a father son operation and there is a RV repair shop next door. They were recommended by our RV service mgr so I hope everything works out OK. Hope your health is good enough to make the rally. We missed last year's due to health issues and are really looking forward to this year's.

The hits just keep on coming. Heard from the body shop today and all visible damage has been repaired. They are now looking more closely at potential frame damage and more. So far they have found a broken shackle and a bent axle. At this point I'm almost ready to call it quits and park this thing. As i have a house in Illinois and Florida does anyone have suggestions for another part of the country? Maybe I should take it back to Florida and rent out our house dowm there until it regains it's value.

Sorry, I'm just upset. Not only am I without Monte, I can't finish my decals, maybe will not make the rally, again, plus I'm still making payments!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to visit Monte today to see about the latest problems. The broken shackle is not a big deal, they found the hydraulic leak which requires a new hose and the axle is NOT BENT!!! YEA!!! It has a slight bow to it which is the way it should be, just like the front axle. It was confirmed by my RV dealer. The repairs look great and as requested the Montana decal was not put back on the rear cap. I will be doing something else there as well. We are still waiting for Progressive to authorize the additional repairs. At any rate I told them when we are planning on leaving for the rally and it will be done.

Their insurance should cover the amount of your payments while your unit is unusable. That is an expense of the accident.

I went to visit Monte today as I had not heard from the body shop and Progressive called yesterday to advise that it was going to be completed but had not heard regarding additional repair costs. Monte is done with the exception of some detailing. I pick it up Monday at noon so we can start getting ready for the rally. YEA, YEA, YEA!!!!!!!
