Cross Bed Tool Box

Looking for info on which style of aluminum box works best on a short box bed with a hitch installed. I am wondering if using low profile lid and width used. I have about 21" of room but do not want to get that close to the hitch. But I would hate and buy a 12" wide unit and then kick myself later because I could of used the space of the 16" model.

I use an in the box chest. Don't want anything over the top of the rails. As long as you can get the pins out from the hitch you can go just about up to the rails. Done it and never had a problem. I'm sure you're using a slider hitch, just make sure it clears.

I use an in the box tool box from Delta. It fits and I can get the pins out if I want. Since I have locks on them, however, I actually don't want them to come out.
