Fireplace removal

I need to get to the television/cable connections behind my fireplace. How difficult is it to remove the fireplace?

I can not reach the connections/splitters I need to re-do to get my dish DVR connected to my Cable cabling to get television via the DVR to the back bedroom. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I thought maybe removing the fireplace would be the easiest way to get to the connections. My arms just are not long enough. The cable connection is almost on the floor and the splitter to connect to the television and another device are on the output side of the splitter is right next to it. I looked at maybe removing the television from the device that raises and lowers it but I honestly believe that my short arms will still be a problem.

FYI, I plan to connect the DVR directly to the cable connection to see if that gets me a signal. Next I will have to figure out how to get my CD/DVD player connected to the television so I can play DVD movies. I suspect I will need a 2 input 2 output connector. I currently have my television connected via HDMI cabling to the DVR.

As I said before, any and all suggestions are welcome.

Very easy. There are just 4 screws holding it. Inside the heat vent at the top on each side. Inside the service door at the bottom on each side. Need light because the screws are black and hard to see. Remove screws and slide out. Larry

Well, I removed the fireplace and connected the DVR directly to the cable connection. Still no signal back to my bedroom television. I am really perplexed now. I tried station 78 as previously suggested but still no signal. I now wonder if I will ever be able to get any signal to my bedroom television. Any suggestions? Should I plan on running additional cabling? Any and all suggestions appreciated.

On our rig in the convenience center there are cable connections for the different locations in the rig. As a suggestion, you may try placing a short piece of coax (jumper) in some configuration to see if it establishes connectivity. I believe on the newer rigs that there are distinct cable runs in place to each television location so it may take some trial and error to get the connections right. Hope this helps. When they installed our satellite receiver, the dealer made all the connections on the backside of the convenience center so it would not interfere in the event that I still wanted to connect cable to the rig.
