Millenicom or Verizon?

Trying to figure out internet access when we start full time. The current plan is to use a router capable of doing wifi as wan and a USB internet card. Since most of the places we will be camping don't have 4G availability anyway, Millenicom offering 20g for less money and still using the Verizon network looks like a better deal than getting 10g from Verizon for more money. Am I seeing this correctly or am I missing something?

I was with Verizon and needed more than 5Gig, so went to Millencon and got the 20Gig and it is a couple of bucks cheaper with no contract and no taxes. I use a router and the only thing that changed was the usb plug-in and the phone number. Everything else is the same and they have no overage charge. Good people to work with.

Millenicom is what works for me. Had verizon and went to Millenicom for all the reason already stated. Happy with this service also. I use a router and do have an external antenna but use it very little.

I have used Millenicom with the Verizon access for 1 1/2 years now and am pleased with it. When we started off with Millenicom it was only 10GB then they upped it to 20GB for the same money.
I have been coast to coast with it and there was only one place where I had no coverage and that was Big Bend. I don't think they have any service there. There was only one other place where the coverage was a problem to get on and I don't even remember where now. But I did get on. I know there are dry spots about anyplace you go.
I would recommend using a Wilson Trucker antenna or another Omni Directional antenna with the adapter for greater signal strength. We have the USB 760 adapter. I have three of the Wilson antennas for different places including the RV. I have found they work well inside the RV or the house in the closet someplace. I have one mounted on the outside of the RV slide. Most of the time the external antenna will get 4 bars vs 2 bars. For under $50 it is worth it.
We usually run 2 or three computers most of the time. The Cradlepoint MBR900 has worked well for that purpose. The 900 is obsolete now. There are better routers than the MBR900 out there now.
Millenicom is the only service we use at home and on the road.

Millenicom, YAAA BABY

Changed from Sprint to them last December while in Las Cruces. Sprint was failing.

Millenicom was weak at the stick built, but, we did get on. It is much better in Gulf Shores!

We got the air card free on a special, and believe the activation fee was about $50.00.

Millenicom has an unlimited plan - 3G only, and not a Mi-Fi. According to the rep I chatted with the other day, they don't charge additional or throttle if you go over your limit unless it's an "exceptional case" (his words).

Thanks everyone! That's the problem with the unlimited is that it's with Sprint. We should be able to get by easily with the 20gb that uses verizon.

We changed to the Verizon 4G aircard about 8 months ago. 4G is blazing fast and is becoming more and more available. verizon has served us well all over the country. We also went the the 10 Gig verizon plan although we have not reached that limit yet. The aircard is all we have on the road and we run both our PC's through a Cp100p router . We also went to 4G cell phones.. 4G is the latest and fastest technology and we got to keep up. 4G is 12/14Mbps and makes 3G look like a kiddy car.

From what I understand on the 4G you pretty much have to be in a very populated area to recieve the 4G. But as you say Rich, they are expanding regularly so it won't be long. My 3G seems to work fast enough for me as I am a little slow anyway................lol

4G of course does fall back to 3G if 4G is not in that area. 4G is expanding rapidly and in our experience very reliable. We were eligable for the verizon upgrade and did not think that it was wise to go 3G again when 4G was expanding so rapidly. The difference between the two is amazing.

We use Verizon's 4G plan with 5Gs service for about $50 a month. Plenty of download capability for what we use and most important to us is that we have not experienced any "dead zones" to date. We have had service dropped a few times, but was able to sign right back on. Perfect? No, but it has worked for us. By the way, we avoided paying the $200 charge for the piece of hardware by signing a two year contract...which we can put on hold while we are not traveling.

What am I missing. Clear wire adverties speeds of 3 to 6Mbps which is half that of verizon 4G 12/14Mbps.
