Central Vac hose

I purchased a 2020 3790rd in December 2019. My RV has been in the shop over 60% of the time I’ve owned it, with problems from hydraulics to heaters to water leaks, etc. This means I have only taken the vehicle out four times this year and each time resulted in a trip back to the very busy dealership for repairs. The question I have is central vac length that came with the trailer. The hose that it came with is 20 feet and will only reach the kitchen /Dining area it will not reach the back end of the bedroom and not even get close to going upstairs to the den. It appears that the hoses come in 20, 30, 40 foot. if you have a 3790 RD can you tell me what length of the hose for the Center vac.
My dealer doesn’t seem to know and I have not but heard back from the Montana rep.

Our hose must be 20’ long. I double checked that with DW that with the attachments it will barely reach our rear couch/ floor carpet and it will reach into our front bath. So - if the camper is ~40’ long - 20’ should work to cover most of the floor. The issue I see with having a longer hose is that it will be bulky and hard to tuck away someplace. Our mesh bag is in bad shape. I need to find another bag.

Thanks for the response.
Our connection point is actually below the stairs towards the front of the trailer. Even with attachments connected, I can only reach across the kitchen and to the first step stepping up into the den. I totally understand the issue with a longer hose, but if I can’t reach two of the three rooms it’s pretty much useless. Thank you I truly appreciate the input.

A number of us don't even worry aout it because we dumped the central vac and went with a shark or other model of good vac. If you get the chance, vacuum with the central vac and then try a Shark over the same area. When I did it years ago I had to empty the shark twice. When we bought the 2017 we just gave the vac parts to the raffel at the national rally.

I think you are actually onto something. We looked at the cost to buy a longer hose for the Montana which are available, but for that price we would be better off with a Shark or Dyson. It’s tough for me to get past all the misleading and poor quality issues now a days. Being a RV owner for 20 years I’ve seen quality going down hill and should be used to it. As they say:
“ The only thing that always works on an RV , is the owners”

Thanks for the new direction...

That is so funny, but true.

I totally agree that builds have gotten cheaper, but we dumped the central vac on a 2010, so things just haven't gotten any better.

The central vac is a good idea, but that’s as far as it goes. We’ve got the rechargeable Dyson. It works great, other than the fact that the battery doesn’t last as long as we’d like before needing a recharge. We’ve tried a couple of Shark products & not been overly impressed with them but everyone’s experience will be different.

Your hose is definitely too short. I can vacuum the couches in the rear den and all the way to the closet in the main bedroom with ours. It's also a 3791RD with the vac below the steps to the bedroom.
We tend to use the toe kick dustpan more than the vacuum, though. It's just easier than dragging that hose all over, and the dogs don't freak out as much.

On our rig even that had a lack of thought. They put the dust pan in the middle of the floor so you have to take half the stuff out of the basement to empty the bag.

We (I) use our cordless Dyson V10. It works much better and is easier to use than the central vac.

We used the Dyson in our previous MHC. Loved it. Bought the 3811 this past spring & decided to give the built in vac a fair shake. We agree with the posts on here about the hose being too short, a P.I.T.A., etc. This next season, the Dyson goes back in the 3811 & the vac hose & accessories will stay home. We do love the toe kick dustpan, though. That’s the best feature of the whole deal.

Thank you for the reply. You are 100% correct. I think the Dyson is the way to go.
I was just too caught up on the "principle of the thing", and just need to get over it.
A promise of a central vacuum system should at least allow you to actually reach the full trailer.
Realistically they need to scrap the central vacuum, and go back to supplying a cordless stick vacuum in the closet as they did before.
Than you for the input.
