I had a Grand Design before the 384BR. The Reflection has two grey tanks and Three handles in the same place. Why is the Galley tank separate on the Montana? With the slides out it is not easy getting to the Galley tank release lever.

I've looked at the specs for this unit (Mountaineer package) and can't find a mention of a galley tank in Keystone or other RV site specs. Don't see it as a package option, either. Just 1 freshwater tank, 1 grey tank, and 1 black tank. Guess I'm missing it.
The dump handle is completely separate from the others. Up under the main slideout. I feel pretty foolish for missing it, but glad I caught it before it was too late or had to figure it out in a bad spot. Sitting in the driveway at home right now.
So....all the galley water since we got it last fall has been collecting, and frozen in the tank over the winter. Guess I'll learn more as we use it more. These darn owners manuals are way too generic.

I have a galley tank that I leave open most of the time. They put the handle way under. I bought an extension handle and will get around to installing it. I was wondering how full timers are making out with the lock down. Are campgrounds being accommodating ?

I have a 2019.5 Montana 3761FL with 2 gray and 2 black. All 4 handles are in the same place near the drain.

I would say welcome to the forum vfchuck as this is your first post but you joined nearly 3 years ago.Don't be bashful, share your experiences with us as we can all learn from each other. There is never a day that goes by that i can't learn something from this forum. The only problem i have is i seem to forget most of it.

CADman, on my 2011 325RLT 5th wheel the upper level houses one 40 gallon grey water and the one black tank. On the lower level is the 40 gallon galley tank. I would think that when draining the upper tanks, some black or grey water may seek to enter the galley and cross-contaminate if the galley valve is left open full-time. At least prior to dumping the two tanks on the upper level, you may want to close the galley valve. My procedure when dumping, with all valves closed at start: black first then rinse and close, then galley and close and finally dump the upper grey (shower water, cleanest of all) and use this to flush clean the pipes and drain hose.

We had the same issue....our galley starting backing up and not only did our dealership service manager tell us that there was only one grey tank and the second sensor showing a full tank was just a default! When we insisted that this was not correct, they then realized that there was a second grey tank but the manufacturer never installed the pull handle!

our 2011 Mountaineer 347THT has a separate galley tank, I was aware of it. There is a printed label on the trailer "Galley Tank Valve" just above where it is located, just fyi.
